It's basically a birdcage, or a structure to hold doves. They use hanging ones in KCD.
Looks like this. If steam doesn't allow links, it's a small round house looking thing on a pole, about 8 feet up in the air. There's a bunch around skalitz and one at pesheks house
Some people need to put others down to feel good about themselves... some call it human nature but I beg to differ. Díck nature is more like it
Why anyone wanted more flying rats around is beyond me. Messengers maybe?
Whatever, I was having a lot of trouble with that quest, could not find a definition for "dove cote", and yes, Lieste has it right, pigeon squabs were definitely a food item in some European cultures, as were sparrows, blackbirds, larks, and several other small birds we do not consider "food" material in this day and time.
As for the answer that Cypher gave, I do not get a signal to dig around the one you suggest, I assume you are talking about the one at the corner of the burned out inn, right next to the picket fence with the wheel barrow next to it, on the main through street, and yes, I was equipped with a spade because I got the dig signal at two others. The "treasure" at each of these two consisted of a bag of clothes rags not worth taking because they were so badly depleted. Perhaps, if they actually exist at the start of the game, they are new when they were buried and worth something to the merchants before the village is destroyed. However, the finding of these two "treasures" does not complete the quest, it is still active, so obviously I have not found "THE TREASURE" required to fulfill the quest. Apparently I will need to invest more time in the destroyed village.
I am guessing the BDK is talking about the same one as Cypher suggests, so no, I spent several minutes trying to get the dig signal around that location and nothing popped up either inside or outside the fence.
Ah no, the one by the picket fence is a dud... push on further past that one and should see two more, one on your right and another slightly further on your left. You should be able to see over a fence with a washline full of clothes when you're at the right one. (this is from memory so hope it's not being distorted by my age
ust walk pas tthat dud one and you will see the others one of which contains the treasure
