is it good for a first soulslike?
i'm not a soulslike player, did a run of code vein once and never could get into star wars, should i try this one or does it heavy relay on other games of the gender? (like things that we should already know from the start), the sci-fi theme really amuses me

This was my first souls game actually, and I enjoyed it. This made me become a souls like fan. Do it.

Code vein is trash. I played and finished it as well. Not a good souls.

Code vein is solid soulslike with its blood code system, that’s it some areas are just bad in general. As for this game hard to say since most stuff you’d associate with souls games isn’t there besides finding your currency after death(just because the game is hard and has a stamina bar doesn’t make it a souls like). Also the Star Wars games aren’t souls like either god the term in grating.

No, this has got to be one of the worst Souls like games I have ever played. I at least finished Code Vein. It might not have been great, but it was leagues better than this ♥♥♥♥ storm. The only decent thing about this game is the overall story, but honestly, its not good enough to hold its own for that alone.

If you want a sci-fi soulslike thats actually good, try Hellpoint. Not only is it moderately easy once you get used to it, its got one of the best sci-fi stories in the genre.

Unless you've finished sekiro or one of the dark souls solo already.
I would say it's generally not good to start with, because of how generally hard it is. It might have best consistent difficulty curve of the genre, but I'll doubt you'd appreciate that before you bounce off it because you can hardly make progress.
Play Hellpoint or the Jedi games first, I consider The Surge a must play, just after you have some experience.

No, I have played all the Sekiro souls etc and the difficulty of this game lies in the progress, they never give you the slightest sign of where you have to go, to go around and around with a high difficulty curve. In the end I finished it but I used a guide out of boredom and lack of time because being so labyrinthine and sending you to places you won't know, you waste a lot of time (have family). LOTF 2014 it seemed better to me.

A souls to start with is Demon souls, you get used to the gameplay and then you go to the normal souls, Sekiro, nioh Nier, and I honestly don't recommend this one. The bosses were very easy and obviously I didn't use any guides for them.

You clearly have below average ability to navigate through new locations, I wouldn't put your personal debilitation as a warning to others.

No, I have a long, long history with these games and I believe that this game has double difficulty, orientation and not indicating where to go, and also difficulty of the enemies, if you have never played a souls (which for me seems not to be ) I think I should start first with something that can be better oriented. I would have liked to start with Demon Souls to learn how to fight and then Ds1. In my other post you were kind, now you talk about my weakness? hehe it's true I don't have my bearings well, but I have my daughters and I work, I can't dedicate to Surge what it requires. I have overcome games that only 0.5% have been able to (Darkest dungeon Sekiro, Sigrun) I don't think I am weak in these games, but with a newborn it is not easy. I don't get angry or anything, especially because one is already very old.

I dont think so. In my opinion The Surge is not a good game to start ur souls like adventure its not that good as other souls likes and its different. I would recommend u to start with dark souls 3 or dark souls remastered. If it will be too hard for u then play elden ring:GDEasy:
