"Job" choice?

Does the choice at the start make any real difference or should I not be worrying about it?

Honestly it depends on your general play style.if your interested in this then im asuming you've played dark souls or bloodbourne. The combat is more like bloodbourne than dark souls but in general its easier. The lynx set is very good at the start of the game but later on you will get one or two shoted by certain enimies. My gear is all mk.III now and i use a hybrid miz of different gear. The only parts of the lynx i still use are the legs.
I've played about 8 hours into the story and I recommend starting with the Rhino b/c you can immediatly farm all of the lynx set in the first area of the game. for my first 6-7 hours i used the lynx body and legs with the rhino arms and head. It works perfect for a dodgy heavy hitter. With the right weapons of course.
Oh and i hope you have patience b/c some bs can be just as bad as dark souls.

Yeah, I was meaning the initial choice, but sounds like I picked the right option anyway - thanks folks :)

the initial choice gives you slightly different free gear at the start: an arm and a leg, to be precise.

you can get both armor sets from the first area regardless: Rhino/Heavy Operator stuff comes a -little- later than the Lynx gear you can easily farm off of the first enemy after the medbay.

You can get the entire Lynx gear in the first area. Some of the rhino armor (all parts you get in voucher) is also available in the first area but is on the more difficult enemies and uses more core power.

well you can get the entire rhino as well
but there seems to be only 1 chance to get the torso piece in that "tutorial" area.
the dude locked behind the door in the dark area is a full armor rhino, but he does not respawn.

there's one or two guys that respawn up the exo-lift that have random pieces of rhino armor on them that -do- respawn.

well for me the rhino at the generator has 2 arms only.
and the dude on the roof has head n legs only.

havnt seen any unit switchin equipment yet.

The rhino dude in the rafters can spawn with some of but not all of the set, but can spawn with any of em. So sometimes you get an arm and a leg, and sometimes you get the leg, arm, and a head, and sometimes you get the full top half.

never knew this was a choice that effected anything, thought it was just an illusion/false player choice to make the player think they have choices even though they dont :0

There is no point in picking Lynx whatsoever since it can be farmed, literally, from the very first humanoid enemy in the game.

By that logic you can also farm the rhino too since its like 30 feet from the ops.

Except it takes a while to get access to that area and Rhino dudes are far tougher than Lynx ones.
