F**K YOU LVL 3 & Robot Dog advice.
Died because I miss timed a dodge on the robot dog things, fair enough. Making my way through the undergroud area near the beginning and I was attacking the bots there. As I start going through my combo, glitched out like mad and was suddenly mid air, then fell down the walk ways. 20k scrap gone :(

Anyone got a good tactic with the robo dogs? Using the red version of that single rigged weapon (one in the poison area, first level). So far I've just been taking out there tail thing, then dodging in an out like mad. Any way more effiicient?

Leaving the tail on for most of the fight can be useful. Target a leg instead, and counter the tail attacks. If you block them, you can counter-attack quickly, and for a lot of damage. It will usually not even bother attacking right after, which gives you time to regain the stamina lost from the block.

I only cut off the tail if I want the item dropped from it. Which can be handy, as it is worth 1K tech scrap.

If you smack either of their legs enough you'll cripple them and they'll stop jumping.

Use your drone to zap it when it's trying to leap at you.

Fair enough, I'd been lopping it off for the extra scrap, but if it makes it easier leaving it on. Will try it out.

Didn't know that. Ye I like using the droid to bait out mobs one by one lol handy little thing.

you can pretty much block and counter every dog move except the decapitation leap. That you counter with a well timed dodge.

I hate the delay in the drone activation. Takes too many seconds before he fires, and it's for such a piddly amount. Then you have to wait like twice as long for him to return before you can activate it again.

If you do want the tail for the tech, lop it off near the end of the fight. Heck, target the tail and just bait it into attacking to counter it. Still kill it easily, and the tail should pop off near the end of the fight.

I use twin-rig dual blades, and I have yet to break off a leg before it dies. It's kind of funny, I assumed it couldn't break until I see people mention it here on the forums.

I always stay near, but not hug them, while trying to get their back to a wall/object. Whatever is nearby, so when they do their attack/jump back combo, I can jump on either leg and stumble them to death. It seems in the open or at any distance that they can do that massive leap is when they are a real pain.

ye, after doing what you guys said, the robo dogs are easy af lol I know have more problems with the cleaning drones near spawn (only because you have to be careful where you dodge or you fall and die)

I lost 60k because I was feeling like a god when i could kill the security guards in 3 hits but i got stun locked and got one shot by a single heavy combo lol >.<

Oh, I know that. You can kill enemies without then even attacking once 99% of the time, but then they either act smart, or you act dumb. I've lost a fair amount of scrap to this.

The most effective way I've had with them is basically doing the dash/slide attack over and over against them. Dodge their jump -> slide attack -> dodge -> slide attack -> dodge rinse/repeat. This is while using Lynx armor, though.

Using the red spectre weapon and either scarab or rhino, I just dodge their leap now, then block counter. Over very quickly.

This is type of encounter is why the game is more difficult than the Souls games in my opinion. Every Souls player knows how to deal giant trolls, skeletons and fallen knights. They all have established attack patterns or animate as expected with their biology. But you have no idea what a three legged robo dog or a maintaince droid brings to the table until it murdered you a few times.

Very good point actually. Think I'm too stuck in the souls mentality.

well actually not many people beat hard boss in DS in first try either, the first try was always learn the pattern while rolling like swiss roll cake.
