You sir, are a god !
Thanks,
Keep us updated and upload more if you want to, when you get to new areas and stuff.

I can do this as I test the environment/fields, sure. :)
Because this looks so nice, i cannot decide if i stay with my original version + emulator or finally buy the steam version (playing on original psx is no choice because of the low visual quality/resolution).
What is holding me from doing so are the analog control issues and the interface on pc (two things that probably never will be fixed?).
The emulated version is perfect except for the backgrounds (shaders help a little bit), cutscenes could be better.
Another thing on emulation is the jittering of characters. Might be solved if i ever get to run PCSX-R's PGXP version with clean audio though. PGXP greatly improves psx-graphics..
Here's a short vid (not by me) on FFIX with this version:

Anyways, THANK YOU SO MUCH 4 YOUR WORK!!! Months ago, i thought something like this would never happen..
Edit: Oh and i forgot to add that i would immediatly buy FF9 here, but the job square did here was pretty weak.
FF9 was the first game of the series i ever played, and i didn't even played it when it came out. I bought exactly one week after i got my ps2, just because it catched my eye in a store, and what can i say?
Tried it, and did not stop for any other game before i went through. After such a long time, i often thought about a second run (game is right above my TV, next to Shenmue 1), and when i heard they'll bring it on pc..hell, i freaked out.
Then this poor Android port came along the way, and from what i saw and read about it i can stick with what i already own.
And now Fragosso and his pal are doing some part what would have been squares job, and that's great.
Now sorry for going a little bit too much offtopic maybe, but this had to be written.
The port isn't all that bad. The character models are really great and the Videos are not only upresed from the lower resolution PSX Files but from the HQ/HD master and they look very good BUT are a little cropped.
Analog isn't supported that's true but that's not a big deal, at least not for me.
Music was restored by the community. The only thing are the missing sfx and the really ugly backgrounds.
So after I've released the mod it's only boiling down to analog movement as well as some missing sfx (if the last is not patched by the community by then ^^).
The UI could be modded. From what I've heard one guy is working on enhancing/tweaking the whole engine as a such and UI mods should be feasible in the future.
On a side note: I hit 25% on last Friday but I have to slow down a bit as we've received a permanent new family member on Sunday. =)
Congrats ! =). !!
Just download the file and put it in the folder. It's all in the post and very easy to do. And it works !
edit: I should also add that I don't really get the dissatisfaction from some people here. I guess they are the FF9 "purists". Although you could say I have an untrained eye when it comes to terms like "bilinear interpolation" (what the hell does that mean?) As a stout FF9 fan I will say I would very much enjoy these HD backgrounds. I hope you continue working on them. ^^
The upressed steam version are just ugly. They should've upressed the psx version 1:1 instead of applying these lazy filters.
To be completely honest I haven't noticed a difference between the PS1 version (unmodded) and the Steam one. To be honest I haven't played the game in years and again I'm not purist, but unless you had side-by-side comparisons, I wouldn't have noticed. Your mods are definitely noticable though.
It's a shame the port didn't get the care it deserves, imo. It's not trash, but they could have put more effort into it. But if we get enough mods, I won't mind. Just need analog support on top of this and I'll be happy.
