FFIX - 10000 defeated enemies

Hi all,

I finished the game with all achievments excepted the last one "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor III" = defeated 10K enemies.
I would like to know if someone finished this achievment ? If yes, should be possible to share your data save ?
I can share my mine if you want, in the case of you missed for example exalibur 2 / or others.
I don't want waste my time for this one, please need help

How did you get the Excalibur II before defeating Lich?

Personally, I've been targetting everything but the EX2- I figure 10k enemies will be tedious but manageable because it's mindless and I can do it while watching streams. Going after Theater Critic has been the trickiest bit of the playthrough so far.

First i played normally when i saw i'll not be able to get EX2 / ATE and other Achievements. So i decided after reading how to get EX2 with 12h requirement to start another game. I didn't want to rush the game. So i started an another party and i installed a mod to have EX2 at the beginning


You have differents possibilities to have EX2 :
- Defeated Kaozium under 12 hours requirement and analyze the pilliar
- Install a mod to use at the beginning : i did it but i use EX2 after i got EX1
- obtain the S rank with gilgamesh at daguerero CD4 ( Need to be confirmed )

I'm 99.9% sure that the S rank award won't give the Excalibur II- just because if it did, the perfect game challenge (in which everything missable in the game is obtained during the 12 hour window) wouldn't exist.

S Rank doesn't give you Ex-II

If you don't want to have ex-II using mod you need to do 2 playtrhough. 1 for the rush and the other to play normally.
For the rush I follow a live speedrun the guy do it in 10h30 and I arrive at the same point at 11h30 and got Ex-2.

For the 10k kill it's really long I'm at 8500 farming in Grotto aince laste week. If you don't have the same bug I have (game crash after 3h playing) you can use an auto-clic software like hotkey.

Being rewarded with Excalibur II along the S Rank is something that happens in my gameplay mod, Alternate Fantasy, not something that happens in a normal playthrough.
It's also harder to get the S Rank there.

I didn't meet any problem to get S-rank. I discovered all treasures with Choco. And i get it on my first meeting with gilgamesh.

Tirlititi modded the game to make a large amount of changes for balance and difficulty reasons, and one of those changes was to make the cutoff for the S rank medal MUCH harder to obtain.

In the base game, it's pretty easy to get- I had S rank before Terra and Memoria, and I missed two treasure chests in Cleyra (the one with the Silk Robe...)

On the original topic, 10,000 enemies is just tedious. I'm up to 2200, and it goes by pretty quickly while watching videos since the grinding itself is mindless.

I was going to look for a trick to get to 10k, because it's just so stupid. I'm getting close to the end of the game and don't even have 10% of it. If I were to play the game five times through I wouldn't even be at half... That's just a terrible design for an achievement.

Here's how stupid this is:
If you were to get super lucky, and have non-stop 3 baddie battles one after another, with super speed on, it would still take about 10 hours of grinding. Just sitting there, running around, spamming the A button........ That's idiotic.

You have to get the 10k on one file, and Gizamaluke's Grotto has an average of ~2.4 enemies per encounter. After I had 83 achievements (all but 10k & EX2) I had just over 1,000 enemies... but with auto-battle and fast forward, I was able to get about 500 enemies per hour by running in circles and pressing confirm a few times after a battle. The grinding flew by while watching videos and hanging out with people- yes it's dumb, yes it took about an extra day of just grinding... but it's also not too bad because it's so mindless.

Anyway, focused effort towards the achievement- I believe that the Disc 3 Forgotten Continent is a better place than Gizamaluke's Grotto due to 3x/4x Feather Circle and 3x Vepal encounters, but on Disc 4 additional encounters are added that lower the average.

Thanks for this advice IHNN, i read too Gizamaluke's Grotto has a good average per encounter.
But 500 enemies / hours ... I have just to play at least 12hours ... so boring and waste of time.
I opened this topic, because few brave players got this achivement. maybe one guy will share with us !! I hope

i actually have a save whit 6100 enemies i can stop at 9800 if someone want, i left the game at auto farm at nigth and its easy (if you want to do it by yourself just press f1,f3,j in battle, get all anti status effect you can in your's characters and a auto press key program on x or enter and whatever you want in pressing the arrow key, you have to do it in de world map i prefer ice continet

How i got it thanks again for the awesome mod.

Screw rushing through a RPG (specially one as good as FF9)

First we get Beatrix mod now we get High res backrounds/textures that "totally wasn't possible" according to naysayers that praise the iphone version.
They can shove that garbage mobile crap.

Looks like waiting a decade for a PC port was worth it after all.
