Console Command to Re-enable Survival Mode not working
EDIT: Issue solved after restarting the game a couple times.

EDIT 2: "Survival Denied" has a space in it. Leaving this up in case someone has the same issue, because the incorrect console command was directly copied from another thread that I had googled.

Description of issue in the title. I occasionally switch from Survival mode to Very Hard if I run into game issues, and I've always been able to switch back by typing the following command:

cgf "Game.IncrementStat" "SurvivalDenied" -1

The command isn't working anymore; I can only up the difficulty to Very Hard now. Has anyone run into this and solved it? I've got 50 hours on this character and do NOT want to start over.

EDIT: There is a space where I put in "SurvivalDenied." This was the exact command typed in from my results of a Google search

there is a space between the words, so if you typed it as you did in the post there, it is never going to know what you want...

It's not working for me, I did it with the space and when I go to the menu, it still says I'm not in Survival, do I have to restart or something for it to work?

The command simply makes you able to select survival difficulty again after previously leaving it. You still need to open your gameplay settings and change the difficulty yourself as normal.

It still doesn't work, I click to very hard, then click right again, and it goes back to very easy. It's literally not an option.

There's not much to say other than to check that it's written correctly. It should be exactly this, including all the quote marks:
cgf "Game.IncrementStat" "Survival Denied" -1

I did it exactly as that, no syntax errors, nothing, it just appears in the command console with no extra text, which means it should work but it doesn't.

Am I supposed to do it in the main menu? Or after performing some other action?

No, just in the game while playing the character who has left survival difficulty. Survival should immediately appear when you check again in the settings after using it.

I loaded my save where I was in survival, I changed from survival to very hard, exited the menu, did the console command, went back into the menu, and scrolled through the difficulty settings with no survival option available. I must be doing something wrong, can I add you and stream it to you?

Did you hit enter after you used the command?

Yes.

save the game on very hard then load that save, then do the command

Holy crap, that actually worked. Nobody told me that I needed to manually save the game, and then load that particular manual save (NOT the exit save, the exit save doesn't work) then do the command. Thank you so much!!!

I will edit this comment when I am able to do the thing I wanted to do.

EDIT: I did it, I was able to get rid of my molerat disease (which I've had for a very long time without noticing, silly me) so instead of destroying literal days worth of progress, I was able to cure it with command console, then go back to survival. Thank you guys very much for all the help!!

It might be just some exitsave issue, then. I was testing it out a few different ways and it seemed to work without needing to save at all.

I should note as well that it doesn't give an error message if there's anything mistyped in the "Survival Denied" part of the command to let you know that it didn't work.

not sure why but...it just works
