Yeah, I played up to the point of either doing all the side-quests or just dismissing the ghoul from the Vault. I may do it at some future point. But instead I built a nice large cubby hole for all my crafting and stuff so I could shut the door from unwanted guests as I leave or enter. :)

For me, the Benevolent Leader Steam achievement came naturally from it (without the need to spend any perk points working towards it). Tons of Nuclear Material there too.

yeah but I always thought the point of the DLC was to build up the settlement ect but whenever I start it I just wanna scream bc like there's just S O M U C H room in the vault when I last played it all of my vault dwellers were just sleeping in the dirt

I played it on XBox and it was so disappointing, when I finished the "storyline" I left immediately and never came back unless it was attacked by raiders. I don't care that the settlers there will complain about having no food, water, or anything.

On Steam, it is the only DLC I didn't buy.

Most basic workshop mods will unlock the slot machines and such so no point in playing it. It is worth it to slap a shock collar on the crazy overseer and put her to work somewhere else.

The quest is negligible indeed, but the slot machine, phoropter, and drink dispenser are quite nice for settlement happiness as well as jobs. The build area needs a mod (which I haven't used the current one I want to try out) to allow all the settlers to actually navigate the entire area, plus the area's about 5x bigger than you could ever use with the laughably bad build limit in place there vanilla.

I always use it though because I love the build parts.

I like the quest. Very easy settlement to defend if you don't remove the blockage which leads to the Outside. Tons of very useful resources. Esp. Nuclear Material. Lots of exp too. And the large water purifier, can provide a nice source of income from selling purified water.

The Overseer's Legendary Vault Suit, has some nice stats for a early run esp. And the devices you can get there, the Eye doctor device, Soda Fountain and the Gambling device, are great for helping to increase the happiness of your settlements.

The Vault-Tec Workshop DLC has 100% more quest material than the other two workshop DLCs (which have none). But if you don't like going places, doing things, and coming back, questing may not be for you.

Fallout 4 has a great Settlement system. Lot of benefits to have them. But they are optional.
You want to work with a bad system, try Outpost building in Starfield. :P

Vault 88 has a huge settlement and has a higher settler limit (+10) than other settlements. So if you are looking to build something huge underground then Vault 88 is the place to do it.

The workshop items that come with Vault 88 are also nice. It comes with a complete set of vault modules to build your own vault, including vault doors (massive gear wheel that rolls shut).
