Any Hope for Fallout 5?
I’ll be honest, with how things are going nowadays with Bethesda game Studios and the general gaming landscape it’s kind of making it hard for me to be optimistic about the future of the fallout series

do any of y’all have hope for it?

or even better have any ideas that could help improve our chances of getting a really good game in fallout five

After this last puddle of digital diarrhea..... no.

I don't think there's any hope for Bethesda at all. I'm hoping the general condition of the gaming industry is a passing defect like the 1970's were musically, followed by the fresh and welcome creativity of the 1980's.

But a whole twisted ideology has to die before that happens, and those sorts of things tend to hang on like zombies.

None. They screwed up FO3, amateur work on FO4 and whatever the f was FO76, not to mention their EPIC game of Starfield. Bethesda is dead to me.

Well, I thought FO3 was good, I think FO4 is brilliant, FO76 was a massive disappointment even after waiting a year from release to fix it a bit before I bought it, and I was looking forward to Starfield, but look at that total disaster, which I haven't bought yet, and can't ever see buying, so as for FO5, I'd love to play it if it was the equivalent of a true FO4 sequel.

The biggest mistake I think they made was selling to Microsoft. Look at what has happened to Bioware ever since they joined EA.

I do believe there may eventually be a Fallout 5 and if I were asked for a suggestion it would be to ignore the posters like this one ...

This is likely a poster who Bethesda would have never made happy regardless of how they made the games unless they directed it themselves or possibly that the games had stayed like Fallout 1,2, and Tactics. People who are stuck in the past deserve to get left behind (although arguably that may be a good thing for some). I also noticed the poster didn't mention New Vegas ... New Vegas wasn't exactly the picture of a perfectly made game either.

The trick for Bethesda will be to try to keep the people who actually do care about the series as it is right now. They might want to start by trying to make it so it doesn't have to be fixed by the community as much as 3 and 4. Arguably even New Vegas needed plenty of modding love to work much better than vanilla.

It also needs to be exactly like 4 when it comes to the modding scene. With the thousands of mods out there no Fallout 4 modded play through will ever be exactly the same if you choose.

Honestly I'll be in my 60's if and when it gets released so I don't know if I'll even get the opportunity to play it. I just hope it can meet and/or exceed what Fallout 4 was ... especially with the modding.

No. No hope for any game.
1) Microsoft owns Bethesda.
2) Sweet Baby Inc. Nice name for thought police. If the game isn't woke, they'll force a boycott. So, FO4 is the last game unless there's an indi developer.

I never played Fallout 1 or 2. Fallout 3 is my first game and my favorite but as the time went on i realized how empty and shallow it was. Moving on to Fallout 4 it has 0 role play, your role is set, man has a background a name and a voice. Gunplay is fantastic, mods for the guns are good, everything else is bad, fetch quests with no depth, just go there kill that or bring that back. Factions are appaling. Mutants are dumb brutes for no reason, atleast in FO3 they had a reason in 4 they are just there because Institiute evil or to pull the nostalgia strings.

They have so many plotholes its unbelieavable. Synths dont need to eat, drink or sleep but at the same time Institute lacks energy, like bro your synths make energy from NOTHING apperantly. How?

Why make synths if all you need is someone to mop your floors? The pure Shaun also doesnt work because when the nuke blew we were still on the platform taking a massive ammount of rads. Why not just teleport any other human from Vault 111?

Why so many enemies that are reskin of the Raiders? Like Gunners.

Why are minuteman so lame? They lost Quincy, no quest to retake that?

I agree. I really enjoy Fallout 4. My best game ever. There are some which are close and I also would call brilliant. Like The Witcher 3. But Fallout 5 is so far away in the future, I don't even think much about it.

Starfield is not a total disaster for me. I have enjoyed it and have hope it will get better down the road. It's just lacking some things which make it fall short of Fallout 4.

Todd already admitted Fallout 5 is in development, as well as ES6. I have hope for both. Will preorder both.

Microsoft has the rights? You will need to run a few telemetry apps to block of all of the spyware it puts on your pc. Obsidian cant wait for it to come out, so they can laugh at how bad it is. Todd has been cloning broken skyrim for every game, who actually thinks this time will be different?
It's a great question, I think Fallout 76 had a not so great launch, then Starfield was supposed to be Todd Howard's baby, and he basically dropped the ball on that. I do wonder if he thinks his vision came to fruition, or if it was shorted.

With the Elder Scrolls 6 coming out next (I think?) it gives Bethesda another publicity crash dummy before they need to release Fallout 5

I don't expect a lot from current day corporations, they're very similar to Police Officers, Employees and Military, they are ready to sell souls and infants for a paycheck, selfishness has reached unfathomable height, and Fallout 5 CANNOT be a good game overall.

Just look at Left Wingers in pretty much every debate whatsoever about Fallout, their first instinct are to criticize Fallout: New Vegas because they know this is the only game that doesn't spit on the Enclave nor the Legion for no reason.

And what do they particularly hate with NV? You are able to make choices on your own, you aren't forced to be a Brotherhood pawn, or whatever uninteresting groups that lives out of here.

The Enclave killing ghouls doesn't even make any sense, since Ghouls are literal American Citizens, but that would be too much for wokists to handle "Patriots" as the good guys, so having them to be idiotic like they are is the only option they give you.

Look at America Rising 2, the mod for exemple, good right?

Well idiotic certainly, they left their Cryochamber and they suddenly receive incoming psychic transmission that tells them no mutants should be left alive? Tf?

The Modder had to ability to make the Enclave a new reformed and interesting faction not about "kILing eVErYtHiNG" but chose to make them total gunners once more.

What a waste.

Afaik FO5 development starts after the next TES release. If so, it's a long way off. Schedules can always change.

FO76 is getting 2 expansions, one in March which adds new stories to the Atlantic City expansion. The other possibly in late 2024 which is a new map or an expansion of the existing map. Possibly towards Virginia (east of the current map). I think a lot of the scenery in FO76 is quite good, a major improvement over FO4.

If I was doing a next gen FO4 I'd expand the map to FO76 size and add more locations and import scenery objects from FO76. But I doubt that will happen for a free update.

Starfield is also due a DLC which I suspect might be the cause of the FO4 next gen delay.

(Plus other titles like Redfall which are soldiering on.)
Fallout 5 has already been confirmed. They are supposedly completing a current project, and then have one more project lined up before they make Fallout 5.
