Super long loading time
Hey! I back to the game after many years, and before back to my old savegame, I installed many mods, like 20 o 30, and I think that made the game to take super long loading screen, even sometimes it goes black screen never loading and I have to close the game. Any solution? Is this normal? I dont use to use mods so I have no experience in this... I play in 4k and high graphics... I think the problem is not that heavy when I use window mode, but it doesnt go 1920x1080, bus less resolution even it is put at 1920x1080, so the screen is too little to play (i dont know what happen...). So I cant play in window mode... should I try to remove some mods, put lower graphics and see what happens?

Edit: I have like 9GB in mods

If you are already using mods and know how to use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, then you can install two more mods that will speed up the loading times:

High FPS Physics Fix - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798
Disk Cache Enabler - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/74841

I'd use vortex, very easy mod manager. High FPS Physics Fix will fix your long loading times. Highly recommend it.

No, there is not any I know of. The only, and somewhat nerdy, method I know of is to Alt-Tab to Windows while the game is loading. Using the two mods above, with a bit of learning on how to mod with a mod manager and starting the game with F4SE, will result in your load times dropping down to a few seconds.

It is really easy to learn. I mean if OP was serious about fixing his long loading screens, he could watch a 10 minute video on how to use vortex and then maybe 10 minutes to read the entire page for High FPS Physics Fix to know what values to change in the ini file it provides.

If you dont want to go the mod route. you can just lock the FPS in the NVIDIA control panel. Search the game inside NVIDIA and pick to lock the FPS at a certain level. Mine works fine at 90fps which is high enough for me.

The two mods mentioned need F4SE and the Address Library. I hope you have read all the descriptions and instructions, and installed it correctly. You then start the game with the f4se_loader.exe and not through the Steam client.

These two mods alone should not affect achievements. I run with these mods and just recently got another achievement (although I do not care for those). Other mods may affect achievements, but there is a mod that lets you enable achievements again.

High FPS Physics Fix does not affect achievements. The game will tell you achievements are disabled when you load a mod that will do that. Vortex is very easy to install and use.

They are releasing new updates for this soon and I'm sure long loading times will be fixed.

They have had years to fix it but never did. I wouldn't hold your breath in bethesda fixing it anytime soon. Best to just use the fixes that we already have.

I dunno I think a lot more people are playing it again? Over 70,000 now lol. It's probably sold quite well because of the tv show and now they finally get around to polishing it. And yeah those fixes do work well.

Because of the Fallout prime amazon serie. I beat the game already and back years ago with the especial edition and played all DLCs. I am back now for finishing the main quest line again and play many good mods.

Anyway, I fixed the long loading times simply desactivating the most heavy dlcs. I will be playing them little by little and try to find a balance to avoid the long loading screens
