Fps over 60 problem
So i decided to come back to the game, due to update coming, but my game has the weird issue where it's speed is tied to the frame rate and said framerate is at 160 fps. No files were tweaked, no mods installed nothing was changed in the nvidia controller panel and i have checked the game files more than once
Is there anything i can do ?

If you have a good card, set the max FPS to 90 in the NVIDIA control panel. Select the Game exe file, then uncheck "use global setting" for framerate cap, and set to 90. Or 60...whatever.

Set the refresh rate for your monitor to 60 fps. That should take care of it.

There's a mod that fixes this on the nexus, any fps higher than 60 breaks the game's physics/causes weird stuff to happen. Search "High FPS Physics Fix" on nexus mods.

They should really have made a fix for fps as most people now have modern hardware.
We shouldn't be needing a mod to fix it ourselves.

Either that or lock the framerate in the nvidia control panel.

You haven't been playing on PC for very long, have you.

This is how PC games often work, particularly ones which have modding and built-in dev console 'cheats'.

Wait 2 weeks, either way, highly likely that this issue will be fixed for you.

I tried both methods, and speaking from experience using the High FPS Physics Fix was the best option. Using the nvidia panel to fix the frame rate only fixed a few issues. The mod fixes a bunch of stuff all at once, including making loading screens much faster (2-3 seconds)

I dropped the max gpu frequency for Fallout 4 to 40% in AMD software. Fixed the physics issue for the most part without having to install mods or change any other settings. Running on a 6950xt and 5800x3d. I averaged 460 fps before I set the max frequency, down to 80-120 fps.

Set the monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz as was suggested by wtiger27 in the very first comment.

The game was designed when 60Hz was still the standard. If this is not good enough then one can install mods to change this. Do not go complaining about how the devs should have foreseen this or how they should have included present day technology in old games. Be grateful the game maker allows and supports modding of their games. There are now mods for high refresh rates, DLSS, FSR, XeSS, DLAA, Nvidia Reflex, someone even made global illumination mod using ray-tracing, all for an old game. When one cannot appreciate this, then it is their loss alone.

Weird. Maybe you are using old drivers or an old Windows build or something. I just installed the game and I have zero issues and am running it normally at my 144 hz refresh rate at 144 fps. Either way, worst case you wait another 1.5 weeks to roll out the updated version.

Know that when you run the game at 144fps without the High FPS Physics Fix then you can run into problems later down in the game. Not saying you have to, but chances are you find a few physics acting strangely.

There is a mod that addresses it. It is called the High FPS Physics Fix.

You can just have a look and see what it fixes. Maybe you just have not noticed these things yet. The higher the refresh rate the more pronounced these issues become. The game was designed at a time when 60Hz was the norm and most gamers were happy with 60fps. The game uses the maximum of 60fps internally for some of its timings. So when this gets too high can it affect the game, sometimes negatively, like a dialogue being cut short.

No, but when you now put the shoe on anyway and it fits you then this is on you. My comment was not entirely addressed at you obviously. Many people read and post here. It is not just all about you, ButterCup.

You need to chill out. You're the one going around with a holier than thou attitude and going off topic by feeling like you need to give any form of lesson about the Hertz issue that was never mentioned in here. Yes, people read posts that they are looking for, I came here looking for a specific fix to this guy's issue, not whatever the ♥♥♥♥ else you decided to go on a little tirade about. How about you don't go into discussions for one issue and then start posting fixes for another?
