Game seems sped up.
Hi there, I just re-downloaded Fallout again after some time. I made a character and noticed everything seems sped up. And dialog skips over itself. Not quite sure how to fix this. Please help!

Frames can't go over 60 or 120 or something. The game engine is tied to the framerate. If you let it run at 200 fps, the game is gonna be all weird.

It's hard coded and can't be avoided or changed or fixed.

Limit the game's frame rate to 60fps. You can also install a mod called "High FPS Physics Fix" that will address issues when the game runs at high framerates.

Where can I limit the framerate at?

Where can I find this mod? In the Fallout mod directory?

No. On nexmusmods.com:

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44798

If you have never modded before then search for a modding guide that will introduce you to it.

no it's a bit technical, you need to download the F4SE framework and install that, should probably grab Address Library and Buffout at least too, and then High FPS Physics Fix... you can grab all of them but F4SE off of nexusmods (free account required) and F4SE off f4se.silverlock.org... you'll also want a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 (MO2) or Vortex...

it seems like a lot, so if you're not up for this, that's fine, just force your framerate and vsync to 60 in your GPU's control panel, external to the game.

course if you are up for it, you'll be on your way to the exciting world of Fallout 4 game mods, which is extensive... thousands and thousands of them.

There are stickies here and in the guides section are no less than 4 you can follow, if you want step-by-step instructions

Sweet thank you. I'm semi familiar with modding fallout NV, but I'll try my hand at this as well. Thanks for the help. So unfortunate that theres no fix from the dev, and the only way to fix this is through mods. Thanks again. :2017stickycrab:

You can Also just limit the framerate, like the first answer said. If you have Nvidia card, go to Nvidia control panel-->3d settings-->find fallout4 on the dropdown list and select it. Then find "maximum framerate" in the list of settings and set it to 60. Easier than installing mods, if you're not familiar with modding. And generally, limiting framerates for all your games is a good practice. No need to make it run in the hundreds, uses too much power and can cause your pc to run very hot. And imo, that kind of framerates are kinda useless, especially in singleplayer games.

It's just better for keeping your pc healthy and unless your screen supports those framerates, it's just wasted resources.
