Fallout TV Show is mediocre?
SPOILERS obviously, stop reading if you haven't watched the show yet

Episode 1 = 6.2
the best: the intro, vault design and music
the worst: goofy fight with annoying overused slow-mo effect and the background song, immersion breaking stuff

Episode 2 = 7.8
best = the dialogue and scene with old lady and lucy, that was great, then the intro with Ben Linus and dogmeat training facility also ghoul vs knight fight, good stuff.
worst = goofy, silly Maximus flying with no control due malfunction and screaming, looked like a looney tunes situation

Episode 3 = 6.8
best = the pink water mutant was cool, Mr Ghoul scenes were the best
worst = again the silly, dorky characters, goofy comedy, feels like the comedy you would expect from adam sandler or ben stiller movies. The Squire guy is a total jester, vault dwellers extremely dumb, naive but in a buffoonish way, immersion breaking

Episode 4 = 7.5
Best = Mr Handy scenes, the vault 32 mystery
Worst = the scene were both lose a finger was unnecesary

Episode 5 = 8.2
Best = The railroad, ruined shady sands, the hospital etc the streets it really looks like something you would expect from FO3 or FO4 almost a copy & paste stuff from the games, Vault 32 situation getting more mysterious and disturbing. 10/10
Worst = i'll watch it again cuz tbh so far i think this is my fav ep

----------------------

Episode 1 impressions

Slightly impressed but not enough, the part i enjoyed the most was just the beginning (episode 1) after that everything went down hill, not saying it was terrible but certainly it wasn't great either
(edit: finishing ep3, i must admit, it's getting better...)

Kinda reminds me of "zombieland, kick-a$$, suicide squad or bullet train" style of silly violent comedy, i was expecting something like "starship troopers" as in satire, comedy in a way that you obviously see it mixed pretty well with dark, bizzarre situations. in fallout show it's inserted randomly. then abruptly switch to drama getting rid of satire (BoS guy interrogation and tantrums) its odd, i bet they wanted to show us how males can be sensible, flawed, vulnerable etc.

Also they avoided talking about China but i won't get ahead of myself, haven't watched the rest so i assume they going to tell everyone and i mean the people watching the show that the US has been in conflict with China for a long time.

- DEI elements everywhere, it's pretty obvious, they tried so hard to make the vault dwellers and BoS recruits so diverse, different shapes, haircuts, facial features, all kinds of people etc funny how some are fat and others too skinny it's like the overseer is allowing em to be lazy and eat too much while others do the total opposite, makes no sense, then the protagonist is obvious "Strong Female character" also Maximus friend, "Dane" i was so confused, can't tell if is a she or he or agender or no idea.
Ohh and the dumb white males obviously gotta check that box and when they are not dumb, they are evil, of course, it should be expected.

- Unnecesary sex scene and fap scene. What the hec was the point of showing a guy masturbating in the barracks? why??? there was no need for such thing it doesn't add anything of value to the show or scene.
Then the protagonist removing her underwear to have sex with the guy she just met few minutes ago that was so unnecesary, if they wanted to show sex at least do it properly, clothes off etc nah they kept female character DRESSED and guy totally naked.

- The music was a nice surprise but it was too "high quality" i mean it doesn't have the old vibe cuz they kinda added remastered, polished tracks with no background noise so a bit of the "retro" feeling is lost.

- Is the BoS supposed to be this "religious"? performing ceremonies and wearing robes like ... "unity" would do or any other cultists like children of atom? did BoS performed such ceremonies in the games or acted in such way that you would believe they are a religious order, a cult?

- Everything is too colorful and bright, even in dark rooms or places that are supposed to be dark you can see everything its like there are tiny lamps everywhere, everything looks always iluminated even during night.

- Mr Ghoul scene is the same as Geralt scene in the witcher show or some "jedi" introduction, the obvious purpose was showing how cool and skilled and powerful he is by defeating bunch of random villians so easily, a cliche.

- A vault dweller looking for a missing relative? cmon dude, be original, how come thats the odyssey for the main character? same plot as fo3 and fo4 etc

and I could keep going, anyways it's not a bad episode but i was disappointed, i expected much more, the bad thing about a mediocre or bad episode 1 is that you dont feel too encouraged to keep going.

I'm just wondering how that 90lbs they/them with boobs and a mustache was going to keep up with their Hormone Replacement Therapy while out in the wastelands as a Brother of Steel. Or would it be a Them of Steel?

I ain't reading your long ass essay. In summary, for me, the Ghoul Cowboy is really good and is the only character I like so far; the raider boys are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cringe worse than Fallout 3; the two characters only care about "want to have sex" and flirt with each other like teenagers. Brother hood of steel dude must have a personality disorder one min he acts like a wimp next he acts like a bad ass because people broke his ego. Vault tech managment is a cool idea it makes sense, vault 33 connecting to vault 31 +32 is really confusing layout.

The set design for the whole show is 100% REALLY GOOD.

I thought the first episode was good, but the next two get very dorky with the characters and some of the fighting. Really hard to keep going honestly but I'll press on i guess...it isnt terrible, just very meh...

I also dont like how there are areas with lots of green trees in this show. I didnt play 1, 2, or 76. But 3 and NV have no green areas except for that one small untouched area in 3 if I recall. Just felt kinda annoyed about that. They get the feel of a dystopian wasteland right in several other scenes though, so I appreciate that.

The show is set in 2270 where fallout 3 is about to start, then at end of season 2 will go into new vegas. Some of the lore tho seems really off and changed

Maximus just has a bi-polar disorder because deep down he assumes the BOS was the one that nuked Shady Sands his home back when he was a child and they still saved and look after him.

After the last episode, now that he know who is the real villains who nuked his childhood home and it's not the BOS. I expect he will finally be cured of that and be a BOS Zealot who will hunt down the villains who has access to nukes (Which the BOS will approve) that can harm the wastelands. Enclave vs BOS could happen next season.

I watched it all today. A bit slow at the beginning, but overall I'll say 8/10 for the excessive gore mixed with hilarity and a heaping dose of little Fallout tidbits in the scenery. I'm looking forward to a second season, hopefully with even more stuff to annoy the righties.

Episode 3 really says nothing.
and then later you find out that this axolotl was born from a human woman. and then I ask myself, why isn't there a sperm bank to prevent incest when artificial insemination is done?Episode 3 is just a headache.
Music way too loud and inappropriate.
worthless dialogues and scenes.

Just waiting for black hobbits to pop in and start having an orgy with the genderless Ghoul.

Yeah I agree. I do think Nolan is trying and his intentions are good in that it doesnt feel like a cash grab compared to other adaptations. But its just too dorky, cheesy (my wife thought that), and then there are these serious violent parts that try to bring the tone back....it feels jarring to go back and forth like that. The dialogue is dumb as well compared to 3 and NV (4 had stupid dialogue anyway so whatever for that game). I want this world in the show to feel more desolate like how I felt playing the game but I dont think a show can actually capture that.

Oh well. Ill finish it up and move along. Glad others seem to like it though.

In episode 6 there is actually chick "Friendly Vault Dweller" who is mentioned by name by Amazon just to show her naked breasts as an extra

I feel, like I just watched somebody vomit in public.

... and I am not talking about the TV show. The TV show is fine (if that ever was a 'question' in the title of this thread, instead a deliberate provocation to attract attention, like people love to do these days? Seeking attention. Seeking an audience. Any stranger on the Internet will do, to confirm one's own existence.

Who exactly are you directing your vomit at?

Appeals to the undemanding and/or casual FO fan.

I think the show is average. I don't feel like I wasted time watching it but I doubt I'll watch it again and I'm fairly indifferent as to whether there's a season two. If they make one I'll probably watch it but if not it wouldn't bother me.

I expected them to make changes to the lore so that didn't bother me too much. Bethesda can't even keep the lore straight and they own the IP so why would Amazon do any better?

The only thing that really bugged me is how boring they made the Brotherhood of Steel and Maximus, the show would be better without them.
