Ghouls at The Slog
So, I've never figured out a good and easy way to keep The Slog an exclusive Ghoul community and still increase it's population. The only way I've figured out how to do it is cumbersome and I'm hoping someone knows another way. And by another way, I mean by utilizing normal game mechanics playing survival and no mods.

A similar problem occurs at The Castle, such that when you build a radio beacon, you attract settlers, instead of Minutemen. I always thought it would be cool to keep The Castle all Minutemen and The Slog all Ghouls. But I don't even have a work around for The Castle. I tried just not building a radio beacon, but then the only time the pop increased was when that quest happens that introduces artillery, a minuteman is spawned to man that. Otherwise, without a beacon, I've never seen the pop increase. To be fair though, I never left it for a long time, so maybe eventually it would fill with Minutemen??? I dunno, my patience runs out every time and I build a beacon. lol

Anyway, if someone knows a better way to keep The Slog all Ghouls than never building a radio beacon there and transferring new arrivals in other settlements that happen to be Ghouls. Is there a better way? I usually get fed up with that approach and go ahead and build a beacon to increase pop there quickly.

You can console them in too. It's slower than moving ghouls from other settlements.
There are several settler mods (Nexus) that let you recruit NPC's as settlers.
There's also a mod called Ghoulland that lets you recruit ferals (they can't be assigned jobs though).
There's a mod to recruit Arlen Glass and plenty of other mods like that at Nexus. Just search recruit settlers on the site. and give it a look

I have a ghoul settler spawn mod but I think it might have been deleted from the nexus :/ I'm pretty sure it was the same person who made the Supermutant settler spawner and may even come with it? But it's somewhat limited - it only ever can spawn 20 ghouls (or mutants) and if you remove the spawner from the location so do the ghouls.

I'd just send any and all random ghouls there, otherwise. But I do that too, pretty much every time I play I want to keep the ghouls happy together. Eventually though I wind up getting frustrated like you and allowing others in too.

I do the same thing, The Slog in my play is ghouls only settlement! Whenever a new settler arrives anywhere else and happens to be a ghoul i instantly send them there.

As for Castle, all Minutemen and settlers there have militia hats and outfits, obviously all outfits are mk5 upgraded with BW for better protection and also all have automatic laser rifles, fits with aesthetic of the faction. That way at least i can somewhat ignore that majority of them are settlers, because the look screams Minutemen

As part of a pro-ghoul agenda for the Slog, make sure to assign Deirdre to one of the Wasteland Workshop DLC's arena platforms (and then remove her from it) so that she gains the same Protected status as other settlers. Without this, she'll die easily and you'll be one ghoul further from your target.

As for getting ghouls, when I made my all-ghoul shantytown in Vault 88 I located the exact time and place for new settler spawns and made a save then and there. If the settler wasn't a ghoul, I reloaded. Repeat daily. I think you should still be able to manage it in survival mode by placing a bed nearby and choosing when to sleep. Jt's quicker than hoping every day for the one-in-twenty chance that a new settler will be a ghoul.

One of my further challenges was then to arrange a different outfit for each settler, because there's exactly one male ghoul appearance and one female ghoul appearance in the mix of random settlers, and I wanted some variety.

The Slog has the advantage of a little more variety in its base settlers, which is another reason to keep Deirdre alive.
