Dima memory puzzle
This was by far my worse gaming experience ever. I did it mostly all by myself, can't believe I spent 2 hours of my saturday night gaming time doing this crap.

Now I have to go play another game, this was a big turn off to keep playing fallout 4 for tonight.

i just use TGM it lets you build whatever and cheese it or you can get the mod to skip it

Well it was a rather mee experience at first time, for every following playtrough i recommend using mods to skip it.

I found them entertaining until the last one. Fortunately, I googled for the answer and some interloper showed how to finish it in less than 30 second. Once I saw the solution, it kind of pissed me off that I had spent a good twenty minutes trying to connect all the islands-and failing regularly.

Lol yep, works every time too.

Yeah, I did it the hard way first time around. The last one (DiMA's Memory #5) is really the only pain for me, but there is a shortcut (some may call it a bug) which I used recently:

From the Wiki, "On the final memory, placing several Defense Constructs near (or within) the red barrier surrounding the data stream will cause them to fire at the dormant drones, which will then become active. If this persists for long enough, the Defense Constructs will eventually destroy the red barrier itself, bypassing the entire puzzle." Plenty of YouTube videos specifically illustrating the method, takes less than 3 minutes.

personally i don't get why the last one has to be so complex. as long as you have science you can make recon armor by buying zealot armor from the children of atom minus the helmet and modifying them.

Yeah there time consuming for sure, Their pretty straight forward - The only challenge really is just moving those blocks to build bridges.

Edit: a simple solution would have been to collect those blocks as resources, as you did your straight forward puzzles - but they just buffed out the time by making you move all those blocks one at a time to give an illusion of a "hard" puzzle.

Their are easier games out there with way harder and funner puzzles than the DiMa Time consumer.

After doing that puzzle more than 10 times it was time to skip it.

i was pissed off when i got there, the DLC was fun so far until that point, is like the devs smoked crack before working on it.

I finally cheated thru the 3rd one and when I finished Far Harbor I disabled it and never went back.
FafnirChaos Jun 15, 2024 @ 8:13pm
Yeah IDK what they were thinking - If i was to do it I would have keep those islands with the narrow bridges and added in static reflector blocks so that you would have to unlock each area by finding the corresponding reflector block to gain access to the others and then connect them all to the final solution.

having them being able to rotate was basically them shooting themselves in the foot - which is why you have this time consuming final product which is just a strain on your patients.

I even doubt they tested it legitimately, otherwise they would have seen how frustrating it would have been doing it over and over again. That or the person who developed it just enjoys seeing people suffer.
Dima's memories are one of those silly things in this game that I just cannot be arsed to do again, same goes for finding the Starcores in Nuka, so I just mod them out of existence. The next one to find a mod for is the final battle in the The Mechanists Lair.

I'll credit them for trying to do something different in the game, and it's not like doing all five puzzles is mandatory for the quest.

After doing the fifth puzzle legitimately once or twice I do still trick my way through it now as others have described above.

Video is "a bit" long but all the levels should be there.
Can anyone tell me how to leave it in the Steam guides?
