Why's it so expensive?
£50 is quite a bit above average price for a game. I don't think I've ever seen any other £50 game on Steam. Why does Fallout 4 have to cost so much?

It might just be Bethesda messing up. The prices in many countries it appears seems to be messed up. Wait some time and see if they correct it.
Greed.

They are not the first to push for it as standard, thanks to games like the Witcher 3 and people buying it, you are sending the message that, it is not only ok, but that they should raise the price higher.

Here (Brazil), it´s costing R$250 (US$84)!
And a website called Clouud (real name is blocked) is selling Fallout 4´s Steam cd-key for R$200 (20% off).

What the hell Bethesda?

This game seems overpriced.

AFAIK that website you speak of is an authorized (legal) reseller and it shouldn't be problematic if people bought from there.

Not that I can see many people wanting to get ripped off by Bethsoft, but still.

Steam seems to charge an extra on most games. I bought it a few moments before Amazon released it for £37.85 with price guarantee, which is in line with the $60 US price. Well played, Steam...

The publisher sets the price, not Valve.

And I dono about you, but here games like Batman: Arkham Knight are £34.99 with this £49.99. A massive, massive price diffrence.

Most likely explained by one word beginning with "g".

Can't you just cancel the purchase?

$60.00 us is standerd it will cost more if you money is woth less and cost less if your money is worth more or its a mess up

Zeik, please understand that games are not necessarily priced the same way in other countries as they are here. What I mean is that just because game X is the same price as game Y over here, does not mean that they're also the same price in other countries.

So unless you actually have purchased a lot of games in that particular country AND currency, it's best not to assume the poster is mistaken about it being unusual for his region.

British Pounds are worth quite a bit more than US Dollars. £60 is currently £39.28, so our equivalent for new triple A games is £40. Nothing is priced at £50 here, that's ridicilous, that's equal to $76.

This has nothing to do with the government, this is Bethesda's fault. Every other game is the same price here as it is in the US.
