Fallout 4

FALLOUT: LONDON
Just picked the FO4 and the mod on GOG. Simple to install and play as advertised. Sort of glad I waited to avoid glitches, but definitely worth the $15 you have to send on FO4 to avoid the iterations to get it to work on Steam(IMO), It is a matter of screwing around versus simple. I am sure there are folks who loved that challenge.

Without going into detail:

On the good side:
Really massive and a value at $15( GOG FO4 Price) if you don't have to fiddle with it.

Feels like a Fallout regular game. This thing is massive. I was thinking Far Harbor DLC sized, but it feels larger. Still early in, so maybe I am just excited.

Definitely London! Love all the tweaks to make it unique.

On the not so good side.
Still FO4, with stupid long load times...you just wince when you are in a location that will obviously cause multiple long loads...just to go through a few doorway.

Can't see worth ♥♥♥♥. I even upped my monitor but there are points, especially at nite...blind as a bat.

Not super optimized: I am dying a lot. Switched to easy mode but a lot of the enemies are like made of Kevlar or something. I did not use any prior info, so just got what I could get while the getting was good. Watched a vid of a play through and missed a few awesome items on the fix your addictions quest. That was a lot harder than I expected. I hung out with the guys you first meet and only came back to near where I started because I was dying left and right. Figured it was the ailments I got getting out. It made little difference.

General: Got the flavor right, feels like a Beth (old school) release...maybe DLC sized, but still very, very good. I haven't played long enough to really tell if $15 feels over priced or a bargain. At least right now, so happy to be in the FO4 world with a new story that feels deep.

Long load times are a you problem. If you install the standard fallout 4 stability mods (like high fps physics fix) they are gone, just like in the vanilla game.

As far as i remember they added buffout to the FOLON installer at some point but if not that's also a really helpful mod to keep things stable.

As for dying: Fallout London is not easy and heavily favours a melee build. There is no shame in dying :) Ranged weapons usually suck until late in the game or unless they changed the balance a lot since i played Fallout London.

You could have just downgraded the Steam version - for free.

Yes, but if you read my post, I am not one to want to screw around downgrading a working program. Plug and play with the GOG version. $15 bucks is chump change for FO London. In a lot of ways it is better than the original FO4.

There are some game breaking bugs in it.
