Character creator for faces
I am an artist but only good at faces when taking them from a photo and replicating them. Not making new ones. I am also a writer that wants to make some visuals to draw and have of my characters. I find little luck in finding apps for creating faces since apps that swap real faces or other real face photo tweaking stuff comes to the top on search results no matter what I type in. Another frustrating example of popular things overriding trying to do something creative or unconventional, even with insistance on otherwise.

So I am trying a game character creator as a face creator. The question becomes which one would be best for this. So I am posting this in several games with what I know or hear have character face creation in it. I need a decent variety of not only real and serious faces (not anime, cartoon, or goofy) but also hair styles. It's okay if some are weird and fringe as long as many are not.

I would like to know how you would compare this game to others for this type of character creation. Without mods first. Or tell me which games would be better. Mods come with issues I have for this so I want one that is first good without them.

Thanks for your time.

While this game has a LOT of customization for the faces you'll still want to look into more hair and facial hair options, skin textures, and the like.

However understand that SOME OF THOSE ARE BROKEN for the current edition of the game. Go to nexus and just look em up. thousands of more smexy ones, but also a lot of just plain good hair and eyes, skin, etc. options for both male and female.

The harder part is *getting a nice clean closeup* beyond the character generator screen, which you can also find 'photo op' style mods but also again, may be broken with the current edition so be careful what you download in that regard.

Oddly enough though as a suggestion, a LOT of 'fighting games' like street fighter and that kind, and sometimes 'wrestling games', have REALLY, like REALLY impressive character creation in them. They aren't cheap, unfortunately, and I don't know of any of them that has a separately downloadable or mod-able character generator.

MMOs are also good for this. trust me I make a loooooot of characters for cyberpet "keepers" online, and these are great options for more realistic renderings.

Thanks. For reasons that may bore people I prefer non mmos. Any FO4 mods for this that you recommend specifically? I know personally that FO4 has some normal hair limits.

Well my game has
Colors Xpanded, it's pretty old but it should still work?
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10302

and Lots More Facial Hair (men obvs)
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10746

I don't use any of the big boobie or smexy mods, so I limit my own game options, though I've often wanted to have some of the clothing that requires a couple.

I don't remember whether that facial hair mod also includes the unlimited female hair styles, or if possibly that one got removed from nexus? It didn't come up in my nexus download history under 'hair' but there's definitely one that mixes and matches LOTS of hair styles out there that are vanilla mostly in the game, combining their elements. I hope it hasn't been removed because I need that lol if I start an updated game I might be boned :D

(oh they're still up, lots more Female and male hairstyles are by the same modder)

Looks like between the two there is lots of color and texture changes or facial hair but no hairstyles or at least female ones. I did see some female hairstyle included mods. I was just hoping you may have more experience on them. Some of my female characters for one reason or another are attractive. Deities, or chosen for their looks for a strategic reason.

Thanks! This is the type of thing I was looking for. When I popped in to glance at mods for various games I may of saw this first one but not the second. Both should be useful. Maybe I will just fallout 4 my characters after all. I have play it a lot. Much more than on steam. I could even play like those characters after making them if I get bored.
Thanks for all input everyone. I think between input here and other discussions on other games I have enough for an informed decision. I'm turning off notifications for this to me. It doesn't matter if people want to keep discussing among each other about it.
