Preston Garvey doesn’t like me
Does PG’s behavior depend on player’s level?
I have installed a mod which restricts my level to 1.
PG doesn’t give approval to any of my actions, he just dislikes if I give jet to Mama Murphy.
Also he stopped giving me quests after I completed Old Guns.
I didn’t do any quests in Nuka World.

Every companion has an affinity system. Perhaps you went too low with him by doing things he doesn't like.

me neither
Installed a mod that restricts your level to 1? Why? Guess it's better than the mod that starts one off at level 50. I mean, wtf, that's about where I quit. Preston & Co. are just plain corny.
If you're already cool with mods, then there are far better mods available for this title.

I didn't do what PG dislike, just tried jet on MM then loaded a save. In any case PG should say he likes it if I install a radio beacon or help settlers but he doesn't.

I don't like level-scaling. A static game world looks more natural. It's much better if a game world is divided into zones with some static level for each, like WofW or FC6, or Witcher.

You have fun with Preston whining in your ear then, you just opened yourself a Pandora's Box with poop in it. Start over's the best advice I can give, you're in Purgatory-Tutorial mode.

Giving chems to Mama Murphy is one of the specific things he does dislike. You an find lists of all the things a companion loves, likes, dislikes, and hates on their page on the wiki[fallout.fandom.com].

Placing a radio beacon is one of the things he likes. The message might not always appear, as those messages in the corner are known to glitch out and not show like they are supposed to.

If these things really aren't changing his affinity, you have a bug or a mod causing issues. Your level only ultimately matters for a single thing - when the Automatron DLC starts.

know what else he likes?

Sending you to random settlements to die.... i mean... liberate them.

Note too that the companion has to "see" the action in question to have it affect their affinity.

Setting up a radio beacon in a settlement only awards affinity to Preston if he "sees" you do it... meaning he's a companion. However, having Preston in Sanctuary, and giving Mama Murphy jet -in Sanctuary- means he sees it and hates it.

You can check you affinity with a companion with the command: getav CA_Affinity
or use a mod...

Companion affinity level markers are every 250 points, with a negative level meaning they dislike you.... and after a certain point stop talking to you all together.. and eventually they will attack you on sight (So I've been told... not tested this)
If you really wanna piss off garvey, just join the nuka world raiders and start taking settlements. thats his Point of No Return, although ive heard of workarounds... but i think it would bug the game.

Although other companions are a bit wierder.

Suprisingly beating the game as Institute only makes Piper yell at you, and then she still wants to join you, id think that would tick her off.

I still stand by the notion that Sim Settlements Conquer is the best mod ever....

For no other reason that you get to walk into the Museum of Freedom and kill them all!
Preston, Druggie Murphy, Whiny Jun, ♥♥♥♥♥ Marcy, Hair boy Struges...

All dead on the floor.... The perfect start to a murderous commonwealth!

Thanks, I'll try it
NOTE companions jus need to be in the vicinity for affinity actions, dont worry if there not in the same room or area as u
I know Garvey doesn't like it when you shoot settlers and deserters from the Minute Men.

It really sounds like a badly made mod or very out of date mod.

Why play a game that has X,Y, and Z then get a mod that removes X, Y and Z just does not make any since to me.

Just don't take any perks and your golden no mod needed.
You know Garvey lost all his minute men, right? Got them all killed. And he's so happy to see SS and you remind him of all the dead minute men under his command; he even says so. Then he tries sucker SS on suicide missions that get SS killed. All the "Glory" seems to go to Garvey - he doesn't seem to pass the word on that SS did all the heavy lifting.
SS should hate Garvey. SS hates Desdemona (save the toasters), Elder Maxon (Nazi), and even if SS can't hate his son, Shaun is such a disappointment.
