When you've levelled twice, stick both points on "Terminal hacking", head dount outta sanctury, over the bridge, follow the road, first place, is Red rocket, useful bits to scavenge, u also find "Dogmeat" there, not terribly useful, as a dog, his forte is he CAN get items out of LOCKED containers.
After you've picked up Dogmeat, carry on down the road, to "Drumlin Dinner", there's 2 thugs outside, shoot em in cold blood if ya want, walk down the road. being very careful of the 2 robot sentinels, when u see truck in the road, go right and then straight, carry on, you'll see another vehicle, and beside it, is a terminal locked PA pieces..
Add these to ya Parts an use em as spares.
After that, i head to "Combat zone", i always do this on foot, it's little tricky, nothing a god 10MM pistol an a bit of skill cant solve, once i reach the Zone, I FT an grab my PA an storm the building, kill ll the raiders, then gointo the cage on the stage, a ghoul will give u "Cait", she is WELL worth it she can pick any level lock, from the off, and loves to hurl Grenades around.
After this, play your way, My way, gives u a good start.
I found CR47 rifle and this must be a long quest, requiring many places to visit iirc. rescued a dog hanging around v111, completed quantum rag stag during my tenpiness bluff visit.. one of the rifles shows -233535647 range though.
I'm slowly approaching to drumlin dinner, and i think i'll do them randomly as they appear.
What I do is travel unarmoured to quest location, ft back to base, grab armour then Ft back to mission.. The PA sure cuts down on player death's, over something as stupid as a mole rat.
I also like to invest early in the first 3 ranks of barter, brings fusion cores down from around 500 caps to 2-300 caps and increases the price for sold ammo, as ammo has no weight, to increase my ammo, I take the luck perks, that allow u to find more ammo an caps in containers....
Depending on the building, u can walk out with a few hundred caps.... an assorted free ammo, jus from opening every draw.
To take FULL advantage of the ammo, decide what u want to use, and sell the rest I have 10MM for backup, my main weapons are Fusion cell powered, so I sell all other ammo types i come across.
If you equip a companion with a weapon, you HAVE to give them ammo, if you dont equip a new weapon to them, their "standard" weapon is infinite ammo, Caits standard weapon is a double barrelled shotgun.
Arr yes, IF u plan to equop Cait with gernades, you really need the "companion perks" 1 rank enables Cait to deal more damage, the next rank makes u immune to their weapons an the 3rd/4th allows em to carry more an be unharmed by your weapons.
I am having a bit of fun with my "Napalm Launcher", an as u can imagine, having acompanion immune to your fire, means I can rain, unbridled flaming devastation down on my enemy, with wild abandon.
Least i forget, fire the "naplamer" into water, bleeding amazin actually, i think you'll be quite impressed, unfortunately, it wont do any damage, so don't try to take something in the water out with it, unless you can hit the NPC it's self.
Unlike the NG stuff where there is a very clear progression in difficulty and in power ups, so that they really should have been level locked.
I get the feeling that Beth were so impatient to make a splash with the NG content that they couldn’t even wait for new characters and new players to level up before triggering it.
Despite the fact that one of the obvious consequences of the TV show tie in with the NG release was to bring actual net new players to the game.
Beware that the more CC you load, the greater the chance of getting the 0KB can’t save bug. I don’t think they fixed that in NG? Maybe they did.
didnt have any problem as of level 43 now, yeah i'm doing them almost randomly as they come.. only things i do plan is dog rescue quests, i'm checking if there is any of them around where i'm heading.
having fun so far ;) i suggest
yeah people mostly hate CC content.. I personally dont.
So I've tried out a mix of what's available, including playing a character (named "Fruitbar") aimed at exclusively using CC material, though that was before the NG changes.

It was definitely different, especially starting out with a handmade shotgun as my primary weapon.
And now that they are baked into current game version I am sure that lack of control is even worse.
If I were to unlock my game version of .163 and allow steam to update me I would almost certainly use "theIneptEuropeans " mod that allows u to control the start of that new CC content. and set it to a point after main quest complete.:

Am I right in saying there is no new dialogue in any of the NG CC? Even Suggs’ dialog is recycled.
So yes similar with the CC as with the NG quests - loading them all at once highlights the more or less complete lack of narrative integration. Why are you looking for lost dogs? How did you hear about them? Ditto the automatic laser musket or the Manwell rifle or whatever.
Don't see anything inherently wrong, in the way they do things, doesn't take 20 secs, b4 u reach sanctuary, ya screens cleared and it's only in the top left any-way
