PC vs Xbox One (vs PS4?)
My pc will, at the very least, run this game at medium settings, but almost certainly higher. I have both an X1 and PS4. With the announcement of mods on X1 (maybe Ps4 later on), what's the big perk to getting this for pc now? To be clear, I actually prefer a controller for fallout games (mouse and keyboard for elder scrolls, though), I don't care that the PC version will look better, and, though I have a long ass HDMI cable running to my tv from my PC, it's still just a lot simpler to play games from my consoles instead. So, for me at least, what does the PC version bring to the table? The only thing I can think of would be mods that are too much for a console to handle, like ENB's. Thoughts?

Bethesda.net will function most likely as a filter for mods.
PC will have script extender and thus have far better mods avalible.

Now I'm not one of those elitist PC-master race fanboys, even tho I have a decent up-to-date PC. (GTX 970 and such)

I can name you a few things. One of those is not just about visuals, but about how much consoles can handle. First of all all mods will be filtered by bethesda website for consoles. Now say you activate a few mods. Will it allow you to active 50 or 100 mods? I so highly doubt that.

Playing on a controller? I like that too, and that's exactly what I do on my PC. I don't own any consoles nowdays (used to have ps3), but I bought a ps4 controller for GTA V release and was very happy with it.

Game lags or other issues with the game? Pick out of tons of settings or download different mods that surely won't be available on consoles.

I'm sure I could list a tons of reasons if I wouldn't be lazy to type more. Others can add to my post too.

yeah, i don't see more than a maybe two dozen mods running at once, if even, on consoles. it might more so be based on allocated resources/memory than actual number of individual mods, but still...

with skyrim at least, i'm actually not one to run a huge amount of mods, so i'm not sure yet whether this affects me or not. i don't like adding items that aren't already in the game's lore and i typically only download mods that fix things or add difficulty

Well, console will be locked at 30fps, so if that matters to you that is another reason for PC.

I am the opposite with regards to controllers, I usually prefer mouse and keyboard, especially if ranged weapons are a big part of gameplay, simply due to the enhanced control the mouse gives you.

I and whatever site I saw this on might be wrong, but I thought I read PC would be locked to 30 as well. Doesn't make sense to me, seeing how they said PC wouldn't be limited by consoles, so take that with a grain of salt. In Fallout games, I typically play close to medium range as much as possible, so that's part of the reason controllers work for me. I use VATS A LOT for gunfire, but I like to try to sneak around with melee weapons. I'm hoping this game has a similiar or better stealth and stealth kill system as Skyrim. If I played NEVER using VATS, then mouse and keyboard might be what I'd prefer, as well. I don't know if it's that or how the melee weapons handle in Skyrim, but I did not enjoy using a controller for that game. Using a bow with a controller was even less fun lol :angry_creep:

Nope that was a false rumor spread by an article who clearly wanted clickbait.

ok, so higher fps, another plus. now i'm about 50/50 on x1 vs pc. if they'd release some offiicial specs, then i could actually make a more informed decision :angry_creep:

Yeah, it'd be nice if they did release the system requirements of the game.

However, I have a feeling they won't for a very long time.

They are probably finishing up Optimization to try and make it run on the most hardware they can.

yes but the pc will obviously have many more mods available as the fallout series already has a large modding community and mods for consoles will likely be limited du to a number of reasons such as the bethesda mod site filtering what mods are listed on there

right, but that previous comment implied ONLY PC would have mods. considering the context, it was sorta silly
