Skyrim-like Skill System
For those of you who keep whining about no skills, it could very well be like in Skyrim. What if the "perks" tab shows your skill trees and the perks in each tree? I think it'll be like that.

that would be really cool if they made the skills work the same way as skyrim

but if you look at the special stats' descriptions, they dont mention any of the skills. normally the special stats say what skill they influence, but in the videos you dont see that

so it is likely that skills are no longer in the game.

i for one dont really care either way, because the gameplay looks amazing and that is what really matters

Has there been information released about the skill system?

There is a perk chart tab in the Special's section, so I feel like the new skill tree will be in there, they should of called it skill tab/chart.

Skills are in the game, though they do look like they've been redesigned. They are shown in the trailer - Some of the building needs Rank 1 Science! and a Power Armour component granted a bonus to barter.

It seems like science and gun nut will be level able perks (where science 1 allows you to customize basic laser weapons and science 5 allows you to build complex ones.)

So finding a science bobblehead would mean your science perk will increase by 1 level.

I guess that either there will be more levels or there will be more perk points per level as a result.

Frankly, I prefer the Skryim skill system over FO3 XP system. I shouldn't be able to improve my diplomacy by killing mole rats. It makes no sense. I understand that lots of people think XP is the One True Experience system, but I disagree. I would compromise though. Only allow XP to improve skills that you've ACTUALLY used or trained during that level.

As for perks, I also prefer Skyrim's skill-gated perks. But I also understand that a lot of Fallout perks aren't related to skills. So maybe there could be special perk trees to go along with the skill perk trees. Like a Sole Survivor tree, or a Wasteland Badass tree.

Other then the skill thing, which seems to be worked out now, I'm worring that item condition seems too be missing.

FYI collectibles. Just because it was something in Fallout 3 doesn't mean it's the same thing in Fallout 4.

yeah i know what collectibles are. i was simply pointing out what i saw in the gameplay trailer for fallout 4 from E3

and yes i know it probably wont be the same but, this shows that the skills from previous fallout games will most likely be returning. whether or not they are the same as they were in previous games is still unknown
