Settlements and the RTS mod
This is the part I am most excited for, I love building up cities, making shops, my own home, a garrison, and deathtraps for any raiders foolish enough to come near my city.

Anyone else here every play the old RTS (Real Time Settler) mod?

I feel like Bethesda took that and improved upon it in every way from what I have seen, and that mod added so much of my gameplay time to New Vegas compared to what it would have been otherwise.

I hope they add this feature to Elder Scrolls 6, like harvesting lumber and ore and such to make actual settlements and not the crappy hearthfire houses.

I didn't play the RTS but I'm just wanting to make a small house with a farm to give me some food and if they made it so the hardcore option is optional I'll just sell all the food I harvest to be able to make my house bigger.

Thats a great idea i will probably make a large city with a lot of settelers just because i can

I will probably start off with just a small house for myself and my dog, then slowly add more function to it, then start building additions to it to accomodate the NPCs, but I will always build defenses first. dont want to build the whole thing just to have bandits take it.

I kept looking at the mod, but never took the plunge.

All I'm hopeful for settlement-wise, is that we attract unique NPC's, not just 'trader' or 'farmer', but named, interesting characters.

I just hope when I make my house with only one bed that no settlers come that I would have to get to leave or kill to have my privacy.

from what I hear, you have to have specific requirements for NPCs to come to your settlement. They just wont randomly show up

I'll have to find out what those requirements are so I can avoid meeting them till I want to make a town.

Bandit camp. Negative karma first playthrough ftw.
Large settlement with the outer areas (walls, gates, few buildings) being completly military while the inner areas are civilian and trading.

I remember Todd Howard saying that you'll need to build defenses to repell raider attacks, but nothing about walls. Still it's not that much of a stretch I suppose.

Hope they are more functional than the ones in the RTS mod, I know they showed turrets and stuff which is nice, but I hope the walls arent as bad with clipping and snap together or something when you build them.

I also hope you can hire people to protect your settlement and give them weapons and armor and tell them where to stand and stuff
