Is "Grounded Commonwealth" a good mod?

Anyone here played it? Any thoughts on it?

Well, it was banned from the Nexus and ModDB for being "Politically and racially charged". I haven't played it. I would think if it actually improved the dialogue it could be a good mod.

It's ironic that the same demographic that's ok with minority race swapping is against white washing.

Personally, I don't care if the content is better than what Bethesda offers, but I haven't played the mod.

what demographic is that? assuming things about a certain demographic is kinda crazy (edit: there's word for that)

before I jump to conclusions and call bullsh*t on this I'd like to see a link (or a name I'll look it up myself) for the minority race swapping mod. the only one I ever saw was for AnimeRace and that was removed shortly after its release.

people can talk trash about the Nexus moderators all they want but from what I've seen they reasonably give political and racial mods the same treatment, as they should. Doesn't matter if it's white washing or if it makes every character look they went to Willy Wanka's factory and took a dip in the chocolate tank. In my book that's called fair treatment.

Reason? We still have the Frontier mod which you can have child slaves and have relations with animals and death claws. Relations with the slaves in frontier... That mod still exists anyways I do not know much about the "Grounded" mod

He gave the name. Google it. I found the mod hosted on an RPG related forum site, with obviously very little moderating (considering some of the users had literal nazi flags in their avatars).

The claim that it was removed (from moddb and nexus) is right there in the mod description. He even screen shot the messages.

The other thing that came up was a Reddit post in which the user just had to post because they were so outraged they were going to be physically ill if they had to look at the page again. 🙄🙄🙄

We can see the two opposite ends of the spectrum right here. Far Right and Far Left.

I will talk trash about them. Because I heard about the Starfield bs.

If making people choose their pronouns is ok, letting them have the option to remove the option to choose their pronouns should also be ok. These are options.

I want to be very clear about something.

I don't support discrimination, but I don't support banning free speech either, or turning spaces into echo chambers.

I especially don't support people who want to take a moral high ground and tell other people what's right and wrong.

I never cared what gender or race a Fallout character was, because they're all original characters.

But the part about having better dialogue and/or quest choices, definitely interests me.

thanks for spelling that out some of us are slower than others. It cleared things up for me.

not to beat a dead horse but at the end of the day no matter what excuse the modders have, their mods are offensive. Grounded Commonwealth might be the first white wash overhaul but it isn't the first "(insert) master race" overhaul mod to get banned. They belong on loverslab or whatever other modding site, with the rest of them.

Damn this is an interesting topic, I hope moderators won't stop it. Like straight up I am absolutely surprised how good the dialog changes are in this grounded overhaul mod. Here is a link to the channel with a bunch of clips of the changes. The Kleo robot one is the funniest one I have ever seen. Like this is the funniest thing I have ever experinced in a MOD!

This is not a very complex mod, All it does is swap some NPCS and voice files for others.

Judging by the size and the scripts I am seeing. it doesn't "add" anything new into the game - meaning its all the same quests - just the NPCS and their dialogue is changed, and slightly at that: Again, judging from the size of the files in the mod.

So if that's your jam, try it out.
I don't have an interest in it... And my game is script heavy enough without adding to it.
