SS2 - skip quest line
So settlement building is kind of...tedious to me. But I also don't like ignoring it completely. Sim Settlements 2 helps with that, BUT....There are quest lines you are expected to slog through to fully use its features. Is there something I'm missing that allows me to just skip the story and use the settlement tools freely? ( Well, with the ASAM cost, suppose that's an acceptable limiter. )

Well, there is the original mod, Sim Settlements, and its addons.

Same system of building, but no real story line to follow. And while I haven't checked in a while, there was hundreds of add-ons made for it by many different authors so you can always find a building style to your play through.

So SS2 is just the original plus a story line?
No it’s also a major overhaul, and SS1 is no longer being maintained.

Right, so Nite's answer was pretty much a non-answer. I mean, if it's "no", then I'll take that and get over it. I wasn't asking for outdated alternatives. XD

Obviously you're aware that there is a dedicated forum for SS2? cool....
TBH I found SS1 better for free form play, and was stable. (at least it was before the NG update. So if you are on fallout NG....)

There is no mod to cut out the story line, as the story line is about 60% of the mod with unlocks woven throughout chapters.... Or at least it was during testing and building. -Hence the suggestion of SS1.
