Need help Old Creation Club content on pre-next gen game version
I have rolled the game back to pre-next gen update and fortunately I keep a copy of all the mods for a improved and smooth playing experience.

But didn't keep copies of the creation club content i own like the faction weapons/armour paint jobs and settlement objects that all now download in the new file format and cause a crash to desktop.

I've seen online people say to use a tool like bethesda archive manager or load them as a loose files but i dont know how to do that if anyone know how to make them work again with out updating to next gen and then having to solve all its missing faces gen and stuttering issues it really appreciate it

The existing CC items should be using the old BA2 format, so they should “just work” on Last Gen I think?

It would only be with new CC items that you would have an issue. I don’t think they went and updated all existing CC items to the new BA2 format? (I could be wrong)
Question but how did you manage to go back and restore the game files? I'm still cracking my head why for the love of Gaben PC players had to go through with ''update'' if we can't extract the new .BA2 packages.

Here is the list of Creation Club packages were update last year on April:
📄ccBGSFO4001- Pipboy(Black) - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4003- Pipboy(Camo01) - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4004- Pipboy(Camo02) - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4004- Pipboy(Camo02) - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4006- Pipboy(Chrome) - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4016-Prey - Main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4016-Prey - Textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4018-GaussRiflePrototype - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4018-GaussRiflePrototype - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4019-ChineseStealthArmor - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4019-ChineseStealthArmor - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4020-PowerArmorSkin(Black) - texures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4020-PowerArmorSkin(Black) - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4038-HorseArmor - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4038-HorseArmor - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4044-HellfirePowerArmor - texures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4044-HellfirePowerArmor - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4044-HellfirePowerArmor.esl 📄ccBGSFO4046-TesCan - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4046-TesCan - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4046-TesCan.esl 📄ccBGSFO4096-AS_Enclave - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4096-AS_Enclave - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4096-AS_Enclave.esl 📄ccBGSFO4110-WS_Enclave - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4110-WS_Enclave - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4110-WS_Enclave.esl 📄ccBGSFO4115-X02 - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4115-X02 - textures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4116-HeavyFlamer - texures.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4116-HeavyFlamer - main.ba2 📄ccBGSFO4116-HeavyFlamer.esl 📄ccFRSFO4001-HandmadeShotgun - textures.ba2 📄ccFRSFO4001-HandmadeShotgun - main.ba2 📄ccFSVFO4001-ModularMilitaryBackpack - Textures.ba2 📄ccFSVFO4002-MidCenturyModern - textures.ba2 📄ccFSVFO4002-MidCenturyModern - main.ba2 📄ccFSVFO4007-Halloween - textures.ba2 📄ccFSVFO4007-Halloween - main.ba2 📄ccFSVFO4007-Halloween.esl 📄ccOTMFO4001-Remnants - main.ba2 📄ccOTMFO4001-Remnants - textures.ba2 📄ccOTMFO4001-Remnants.esl 📄ccSBJFO4003-Grenade - textures.ba2 📄ccSBJFO4003-Grenade - main.ba2 📄ccSBJFO4003-Grenade.esl

And the most underrated part is that only the quests are obtainable in the game if not I got to activate some of these contents at Creation Club.....is just collecting dust and being unwanted* for a minority of players.

Bethesda got to make a way and add 'beta' path on Steam platform to go back and run the game in version before ''next-gen'' so it can be capable to convert all BA2 files.

I rolled back the game using Gophers youtube guide to rolling back the game so you can install Fallout London if you wanted, this was through the steam depot and then moving the files over to the empty normal Fallout 4 installation folder, location (note steam still had the game marked as installed if you have the game uninstalled and follow this method then steam will try to install and verify the files only to update them to next gen.

The only creation club content it includes is the main/texture.ba2 files that had come with pre-next gen update of the game since the creation club was introduced years ago but lacking their .esl to run them until you've bought them from the store (example: ccBGSFO4001- Pipboy(Black) - textures.ba2), the game works fine in this rolled back state and using the old nexus mod manager to install my mods from before the update that i normally use.

when i download the CC content i bought like the faction armour paint jobs thats when the game no longer works and will crash on start up, i dont download any of the new creation club content added with the update or the creation club content bethesda decided to make free and force on people with the update

@Lil those files look mostly to be the Next Gen CC items that were canonised into the core game.
I've always assumed the CC stuff added into the next - gen version will break your your ''early '' game .
For sure it will yes.

not sure what Gopher's guide has but I used this

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/81630

I downgraded by patching files and all the CC content works. All I use from CC are armor/weapon paints and a couple dogs

someone correct me if I'm wrong but if you choose the Downgrade by patching files option you keep the added content and if you choose to Download depots it's basically the game before the update.

I'll give that a ago, i'm thinking will need to update the game download the desired creation club content and then downgrade
trey Jan 9 @ 9:37am
that should work. you can still download CC content after downgrading...or at least I've been able to

*Downgrade by Patching Files and Install Plugins

Thank you so it seems all i needed was the mods Address Library for F4SE Plugins and Backported Archive2 Support System plugin and so long as i always run the game through the F4SE launcher it;ll work, i guess i'll have to put a few hours in to test the games stability and if there are any new bugs

Except for pipboy skin and black power armor or Prey armor. Those were clearly way before 2024 update.

Your case must be very different because you cannot actually access the CC menu if you are not running the current version of the Steam game.

but you can do it with the steam console, right?
I mean "dowload_depot 377160 XXXXX XXXXXXXXX", etc etc.
the same way you use it to do a manual downgrade of the game, you can use it to download any pack of the game

Given how many mods most mod-oriented gamers use it's... less than convenient, even I've been pondering buying it over on gog just to have it entirely separate. It's "doable", just. Make that one mistake of launching using Play instead of F4SE and gotta start all over again.

if we're being real I doubt my case is anything special. I just followed the instructions on the mod page. everyone always jumps to downloading depots which makes sense to me if you're trying to play folon, or if you have mods that require the last version of the game (I have one but I just disabled it...wasn't worth the hassle).

the last time I told someone about the downgrader and how it only takes 2-3 minutes (most of that time is reading the mod page) I ended up being the one looking crazy. dude basically said "nuh uh" and everyone nodded in agreement like "Yeah, well.. he has a point. Can't argue with that."

edit: for whoever is curious about it in the future...ignore the loading screen I...uh...not sure where that came from...

edit 3 of 1 million: meant to show the CC stuff in game
