I got my new gaming budget laptop because I couldn't affor better gaming laptop and I was really excited to play fallout 4 on my budget laptop but somehow, I tried to change all graphic settings on Low, Medium, High and Ultra and every graphic settings I have tested, I'm still stuck on 48fps. I hope you guys understand what I mean, because I'm not really good at English

Gaming Laptop model: HP Victus 15
GPU: RTX 2050 4gb
CPU: Ryzen 5 7535HS
RAM: 16gb ram

First look through the guide to see if there's an easy fix you understand how to use. If the fixes found there don't do it for you, find the HIGH FPS FIX mod. Your monitor is probably running 144hz. The game wants to be at 60 fps, but 144... is going to cause the game's engine problems.

It's not your detail settings, but the fact that the monitor is not going to work perfectly with its hz.

Ah yes I forgot to mention that my monitor is running currently on 144hz lol
3 x 48 =144

You will struggle to improve on that unless you can alter the refresh rate on the monitor eg to 120Hz

Unfortunately, no I can only use 144hz and 60hz but on 60hz, fallout 4 is about 20fps
Anything helpful in sdack’s Guide (above)?

That's the start. Leave it at 60hz and fix the 20 fps problem.
Cap your fps to 60 with NVidia control panel also. You'll need to do that anyways.
Use Gforce experience to optimise the game for you. The guide posted above will fix it.
In the nvidia control panel you can set a custom resolution and set a custom refresh rate there if your monitor supports it, so you might be able to get 120hz that way, in the Fallout 4 documents folder theres the Fallout4Prefs.ini file in there is the option iPresentInterval=1 if you change that to 1 to a 0 then that should disable the game vsync and allow you to set the frame rate and force vsync on if you want in the the nvidia control panel though if youre on a RTX 2050 laptop 30fps is probably the best you can hope for as you get into more demanding city areas

48 fps is not so bad. Consoles run at 30 fps.

You're right it isn't that bad. I'm just used to play games on higher fps lmao but 48fps is also very good

There really isn't any such thing as a 'gaming laptop' anymore. And you have a) a 2050 - which are basically rip-offs by Nvidia right out the gate, then, b) its gonna be the *mobile* version of the RTX 2050 - even lower power than the desktop version.

Basically, your GPU is at the bottom end of what this game needs to run and your laptop probably isn't otherwise optimized for gaming anyway.

His graphics card and laptop have got nothing to do with the fact that Bethesda do everything in a cack handed manner, rolling out stupid 'next gen' updates that make the game run worse.

The High FPS Physics Fix[www.nexusmods.com] can override how the game handles frame rate caps and optionally uncap the game entirely. Using a monitor with a refresh rate higher than 144 fps, I still occasionally had issues, though. What I did was go into the .ini file and reverse my windowed/full screen settings.
