Steam Deck OLED issues since next gen patch..
I have an OLED Steam Deck, Ive played FA4 on it before no issues with medium-ish settings capped to 60 FPS and it looked and ran great. Ive downloaded it again today and no matter what I do I cant get it to run higher than 45. Tried turning vsync off in the config file, tried different versions of Proton GE. Is it possible to get 60 from FA4 now? if so, how?

have you used the old launcher. steamdeck=0 %command% under properties/general/launch options/ you can change godrays, shadows, a lot of things. use the advanced settings. it can make your fps better. if you don't like the launcher just delete it. there are some mods that do that, fps enhancer pack. i use proton experimental. my fps is 55, to 60, up and down. the launcher is from thedizzle78 it was posted last year.

Yeah, I use the launch options to get the launcher back. Doesn’t matter what settings I use it never goes higher than 45 fps. Doesn’t even use all my GPU or CPU.

seen this on reddit/ fallout 4-consistent 60 fps settings guide with oled frame rate fix. have a look at that, has a little bit of info on it. from ten months ago.

All the "fixes" are from before the most recent update which added verified on deck. Im wondering if something in that which fixed the frame pacing bug caps the game at 1/2 your refresh rate? with the the deck being 90Hz and half is 45 FPS?

This is an issue with the OLED deck. I have an LCD one and tested them both with the same settings. LCD runs its flawlessly.

Steamdeck is trash, why would you buy it, it has loads negativeness like valve index... you went in knowing full well that anything valve makes is trash, and brought it anyway? this is an deck only issue, should brought asus or msi..

You should be posting these issues on the "steam deck" forums.. not here.. wrong place for support, it's a steam deck issue
low effort troll

and no, its a Fallout 4 issue. i got it sorted on the Bethesda discord in the end
Greetings! I wanted to follow up to see if you managed to find a solution. I’ve started playing Fallout 4 on my OLED and have noticed it struggles with FPS at times. If you have any advice, I’d be very thankful! Things driving me nuts lol

I was pointed to this reddit post by a helpful person on the Bethesda Discord

i found setting you options with the launch option "SteamDeck=0 %command%" first then do the work around after. The fix doesnt seem to work if the SteamDeck=0...... line is there
