Codsworth is incredible.

Wow I didn't know he was this good. I've been spending my time with a lot of other companions. He slices Ghouls with that saw. He also flames them and burns them. He's especially great around packs of Ghouls I think. I thought he was just a stupid robot that I have to talk to in Sanctuary. I had no idea he was this good. LOL. Sometimes I just stand back and watch him take care of business. I shoot a few Ghoul legs. But he mostly can handle them. Against the right opponents he might be one of your best companions. From what I've seen so far.

He does at higher levels. But early in the game, from levels 1 - 10, he is much stronger than the SS is. You really notice that on Very Hard or Survival.

codsworth is at its best when each of his 3 arms is armed with a saw, his left and right eye are exchanged with gatling laser arms and all his plateing is tesla, together with his special equip slot. than he really melts enemys.

But the point Bored Peon made is, at the low levels, he can kill enemies so fast, the player does not get a chance to get a hit in. Not all the time however. But it happens fairly often.

This can be personal but that mostly only happens when I let my companion (in this case Codsworth) do that.

and when that happens I am usually happy I got my behind saved by my companion.

At least someone got the point. When Codsworth kills stuff in one shot with the buzzblade you do not get the opportunity to do damage.
