Lock doors?
Is there a mod that makes doors lockable AND stay locked?

I want to keep followers out of parts of my base when not there. I've tried the LOCK command which works, but if my character leaves the cell for a while the door is always unlocked when returning and followers are inside.. The only solution I've found is to use the builder to put a weapon display board over the door, that gets annoying in a hurry.

Well, one solution That I've used is to create a separate cell for my stuff using this mod

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10967

It works beautifully and no one can get in unless I take them there. Make sure you read the mod page in FULL so you know exactly how the mod works and definitely watch the video.

I always use the lock console command "lock 100" and it stays locked.

Even if you find a way to permanently lock a door, it is of limited use. When you enter the cell, the settlers are randomly spawned around the settlement. Including behind your locked door. Or on the Sanctuary roofs. Or inside the house it can't physically enter or exit, like Carlas brahmin likes to do. Or on a platform high in the sky you built. There doesn't need to be an accessible path to it - if it can support an NPC standing on it, one can spawn there.

This works for me. From my own observations I believe it doesnt really stop them from going into your room. They turn invisible within a certain distance of the marker, but, thats sort of just as good.

edit: just reread the mod site. It says it moves them to their spawn point in the settlement, but, strangely, I have seen them appear walking out of the markers aoe.

The doors I lock by using the lock console command will work. Unless the settlers spawn where they have no other escape route. So it is actually realistic, which makes them open the door to get out. lol!

So if a door stays locked, is going to depend on if the room or building you have locked, contains a cell spawning point. it will work if they do not, so this will keep the doors closed if you want them to stay closed. If you do not lock them, the settlers will randomly open any door.

when you aren't there and aren't in the cell, NOTHING is there, its just computer programming. Followers don't go in your room or what ever when your not there, because THEY aren't there, the base isn't there, when you leave the cell its erased and simple math figures are left.

When you re-enter a cell, everything is put back into place, npcs are randomly placed back into the area. Items are put back into place. So again, when you aren't there there isn't anything to worry about, nothing is there.

If you don't want settlers or companions taking stuff from a workbench, simply have your main settlement where you do your crafting/storing stuff with no npcs in it. Then you never have to worry about them.

Several actually. You could google 'mod for locking things in FO4', for example.

You do know...settlers will walk to other settlements? Sanctuary Hills and Red Rocket, are well known for that. They have came to Red Rocket and used the slot machine. You can also follow them back, so those two settlements share a spawning cell?

Actually, see a provisioner near your settlement and you can follow him across his entire route.

What about a console command that can unlock a red door? By unlock I mean turn it so the denizens inside don't attack me on sight? I think a mod bugged the Science Center & regardless of what hour of/or what day it is, it's always red when I highlight to enter.
