HUD not showing up...

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I can't find the answer to my particular problem.
My HUD isn't displaying the text of various actions, such as for example: when I walk up to a seat or a bed, the text showing if I want to sit or sleep doesn't show up, nor does the names of my companions or NPC's, I have CWSS, so the text asking if I want to use the head or the scuttlebutts doesn't display either. When I approach an NPC or companion I can still speak to them if I can get them in the right area, and once I click on them the dialog does display, but I don't know if I've clicked on them until they speak. Nor do the random dialog lines display on screen. I can still use the heads or the scuttlebutts if I hit the action key (I'm on PC, so that's 'E').
I've checked the HUD opacity and it's all the way up. I've tried using 'TM' on console as well, but to no avail. Also all of the lights have a weird halo around them. I don't know if it's related or not, but it showed up at the same as everything else.
The thing is, I didn't add or remove any mods, but this showed up in the middle of play, Prior to this it was playing just fine. (That is, as well as a Bethesda product can be.)
(I've used the Steam overlay to take some screen shots and video, but I can't figure out how to post them.)
Anyway, anyone have any idea what's going on? Why would this happen right in the middle of play like this? I'd post a list of my mods, but I didn't want to spam the list.

The shower mod doesn't exist on nexus any more and may not be updated properly on ll if it even is there now. the creator took it down quite some time ago.

If you haven't updated your mods properly this is possibly what is going on, if you are on the current steam version of the game.

Check all of your mod descriptions since 'glowing halo' might be a feature, not a bug, in one of them. Or, just remove godrays and see if that works.

Check the "dialog camera" options too, because sometimes that is broken and causes weird interaction problems.

CWSS current version is from 2022 and it has not been updated since on any of the sites I know that still has it. So, running it with game version 1.10.984 is suspect to say the least.

Was your character under the influence of drugs at the time things seemed to break, AND are you running over 60 frames?

-- Go into your STEAM / SETTINGS tab at the top of your steam library window. When you click SETTINGS, a popup will appear. Go down that list to CLOUD.

You'll see "enable steam cloud" (do not use cloud for this game not recommended) and "screenshot management".

Turn SCREENSHOT MANAGEMENT on (to the right, it'll appear as a blue toggle)

That will make it so that when you use the steam overlay and f12 to take a screenshot in a game, when the game closes it will process the images and give you the easy opportunity to upload them.

If you don't do that then, you can also upload them by going to your NAME at the top, and then "CONTENT", and you can choose to upload one from that area.

To get them into a post, all you need to do is click the screenshot. It will pop up with a little GEAR LOGO, click that and SHARE. Then it will offer you a link to copy and paste into a comment!
