one of the most interesting characters in the commonwealth, who is willing to risk caps and his life, to protect his reputation as a merc, and follow his own code of conduct. He is one of the few people who got balls to make a stand against the main character, and we only got one quest out of him?!?

Dan has never survived in any of my playthrus. Anyone who threaten me, died, he is no exception. He has balls? maybe he has no brain, he is first asking for help from a random stranger and then threatening him, whitout even knowing who the hell he is..

why would anyone accept a dangerous merc job for nothing to trust on himself..

and the place, he speaks in a hostile territory, where you and compound co-operate, and he is asking for a bullet by talking likethat.. this is not having balls, this is madness..

I have no idea if it's been changed, but there's an elaborate exploit you can do to get Honest Dan as a settler, though I only found the method on the fandom wiki in the bugs section.

There's nothing interesting about Dan, he's just this random character required to complete a quest. He strikes me as the type who would cut the feet off his unsuspecting dead victims and store them under his bed. Compared to Dan, Jun Long would win the title of Mr Personality 2287.

In my FO4 universe, Dan gets his head exploded at the first opportunity.
