Crash to desktop when going to oberland station.

i don't know why this is happening, i don't have any mods installed, in fact the only thing i have installed are creation club items. is there any way to fix this?

Creation Club items are mods too.
I have no own experiences with these, but from what people say, not all CC content is of the best quality.
Might make sense to check not only your files but your mods too.

There are some very good mods that increase performance and fix bugs like CTDs but installing them in the middle of a playthrough will probably just break more stuff. The mods I'm talking about are High FPS Physics Fix (even if you don't want high FPS it fixes engine problems), Loading Screen Accelerator, Unnoficial Fallout 4 Patch and Texture Optimization Project (TOP).

TOP is the only mod that's hard to install. The others you can use Vortex and have it do everything for you automatically.

to be fair creation club items are not technicaly mods because if they were proper mods then they would disable achievements. so i dont think those are the problem. imma just verify file integrity.

oberland station is one of the few places that are known to have issues, I killed the settlers there just to avoid the constant duplicated attacks that kept happening

And have you tried WALKING there? Let the cell load in slowly instead of all at once.

This does happen to a lot of different locations, not just this one for me, but then I build like a demon everywhere. If you've built big settlements, walk there instead of fast traveling.

And for the record yes I also tried walking, that was one of the first things I tried. And I crashed.

Playing F4 without stability/performance mods is asking for troubles, crash/lags etc ! ! !

To eliminate all Crashes (including on fast travel) DISABLE auto-saves on fast travel, on pip-boy , on sleep, on wait on EVERYTHING
NO auto-saves of any kind !
It will not crash anymore !

Now:
Load and older save, the before-last hard-save, older than all your Auto-saves and quick saves !
Do not load auto-saves or quick saves at this point !
Delete them all auto and quick saves ! You cannot resolve those anymore. They are corrupted. You could maybe bypass THIS crash but it will soon start crashing non stop !

Form now regularity hard-save, and quick save !
Never load an Exit save also. Try loading ONLY hard saves !
Or, yes quick save in extreeme situations are ok to load as well.

Thus again to solve your crushes :
Disable ALL auto-saves

It WILL help !

F4 uses only 2 RAM which is pitifull.

Right-click on it:
Go to Details;

Set priority: above-normal (or high if ur pc is low)
Set affinity: un-check CPU "0"

In all the years olaying Fallout 4 unmodded (incl. no CC content) I only had a handful of crashes and the last one is a while ago, your post is only useful when playing modded! And auto-save off for no crashes is rubbish! As Hardcore doesn't crash less frequently for people...

Well what do you know here i was thinking one of my mods had broken fast travel i been searching and deleting mods for days trying to find the culprit and all it was is the auto save feature jeez beth why oh why do i buy your games, however thank you krixpop disabling auto saves awoke fast travel from its deep sleep kudos to steam and modding community but none to beth except for making F4 highly modifiable game. will i go near starfield only if it can be modded, love to all the community
