Massive lag spikes and poor rendering
So all of a sudden even with hundreds of hours in this game, my games started having really common lag spikes that last about 10 seconds, and the rendering is terrible, i'll walk into an area with no terrain or objects, huge lag spike, then all the enemies, textures, objects load in at once. it happens super often and nothing seems to have worked, any thoughts or tips?

Running any mods? Because what you described is not so different from here.

I, for example, have a bunch that adds enemies, weapons and itens to the leveled lists and all of that, combined with scrap mods, tends to put some strain on the game.

Yeah i've got quite a few mods, but nothing that my PC hasn't already had in the load order for months already. It just seems to have kind of sprung up overnight. tried a fresh install of my graphics drivers, checked the mod load order for conflicts, lowered the graphics and render distance to low. nothings fixed it so far

objects and world loading late sounds like lack of VRAM, what GPU do you have? I never had this on my GTX 1070 at the time I was on it or my current RTX 3070 and I had many mods loaded on them too

Right now i've got an RX 590ti with 8 GB of Vram, i've had it for two-two and a half years. its never struggled before.

it only seems to happen on fallout 4, i'm just wondering whether one of the .Ini's threw a hissy fit and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ something up

It's an AMD version of the Nvidia 1660. the 590 is not really that good of a card overall, and is significantly less good than the 1660.

Its honestly not the best graphics card i've had, but again its never caused any issues on fallout 4. it's just come out of the blue

Did your operating system recently update? Any updates to your hardware drivers?

it doesn't look like a graphic card issue but hdd issue, maybe your hard drive is tired and can't load the game files properly anymore, your issue looks like the hard drive is too slow.

Yea that was gonna be my next guess a slow drive can cause in game lag issues as well. I have the game installed on my M2 SSD

Yeah i might just have to move it over to the SSD, i'll try and get to work on that. thanks for the tips
