Building power lines through walls
This is the worst part of this game. The base building in general is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but drawing power lines is beyond cancer. Its impossible 110% of the time - there even is an item "conduit wall pass-through" which does not do anything whatsoever - added there by troll devs to insult us.

I've played many game with base building, Ark, Subnautica, Satisfactory etc. This is the worst by far. The Forest had better power management (hint: it doesnt have any)

Multiple mods available on Nexus to solve the issue. I use Wall Pass-Through Power Conduits ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20262 ), which has multiple connection types in different sizes added to the settlement build menu. Makes wiring a settlement easy.

I believe you, but I shouldnt have to get mods for something like this. Just goes to prove my point that the base game is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when it comes to building and especially power cables.

Yeah definitely an oversight but it is possible, just tedious and overly complicated. Been a while since I was building but there are YouTube videos that show how it's done

Having the Place Everywhere mod is also going to help you a LOT.

in vanilla, you can always use the conduit sections. They fit on the floor/roof and are all "sectional" pieces (so no wires)
The end ones radiate power, so putting them on flat roofs will allow lights inside buildings. Ok, it doesn't allow wires *inside* the building, but you can build the conduit pieces in doorways and the door will still be placeable allowing you to use the wire attachment pieces either side of the door.

it *is* there in vanilla, just in a really silly and rather annoying way :steamfacepalm:

It's easy, get a "C" bracket type conduit "through the wall" with the connector somewhat in the middle. Put the connector through the wall where you seat the "C" bracket onto the floor outside. Attach a connector top or bottom and power it. Just a reminder, connectors inside a building are strictly for machines and builds that do not get wall power or radiant power.

Just use the wireless glitch. I use it on all settlements that are advanced enough and shouldn't have wires showing everywhere.

Go to about the 5 minute mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdaR7m4gct4

If you need a more in depth explanation of how to do it, just say and I'll show you on a stream.

No, you shouldn't need a mod for this, but currently you do, unless you follow The Cure's advice and explore the possibilities of the wireless glitch.
