Did they fix "cloak" stealth?
So...

I have been starting to play Fallout 4 again after an absence of 2 years. I knew the game got several updates throughout the years, mostly nerfing stuff like permanent cloak. But now, since 2 days ago I'm wondering what has happened to my game. Whenever I crouch, I cloak or go into stealth permanently. I thought this was fixed in a patch, because it was "overpowered" and not working as intented. Did they revert these changes? I quite like this permanent cloak, but I'm wondering (since I can't find patch notes) if anyone else has this.

I have:
5/5 Sneak
1/10 Covert Operations (more difficult to detect while sneaking)
14 Perception (because of Night Person 3/3

I'm really confused. I played this game 4 years ago and I was always in permenant cloak. Two years ago I never could be in permanent cloak, and now I can be in permanent cloak until I move. Just very curious what has happened to others.

You more than likely are wearing a pc of armor, which is the Chameleon pc and it can make you go into a cloaking stance when you crouch to sneak. As long as you do not move.

There is no permanent cloaking in Fallout 4 per say. The closest is ether the Chameleon armor or a mod on Power Armor which will cloak you when you sneak and do not move.
There is also the Stealth Boy. Which has a short time period which can have you cloak and move.

And there is the CC Chinese Stealth suit, which does have a permanent cloaking I think as long as you are sneaking and not running. But I do not have that CC item and I am not sure how effective it is.

There could also be a outside source mod which allows such.

You are totally right...

I have the Chameleon Synth Right Arm, but the discription says "enemies have a harder time detecting you, while you're sneaking and not moving." I didn't knew this was "cloak". Thanks so much for the answer. Permanent cloak was sometimes really annoying, so now I know what to look out for. Thanks <3
