Also which mod for Dogmeat as companion do you use? As far as I know, there's the "Everyone's Best Friend" from Valdacil (or at least uploaded to Nexus by him), I used that mod, but it enables only one another companion to Dogmeat (which is the original way Bethesda intended the game to play), but I'm using Amazing Follower Tweaks instead, it allows up to 5 companions max + Dogmeat in an extra slot. But non of those mods (neither AFT, nor EBF) does affect Dogmeat's behavior in fact. They only tweak follower slots as far as I know.
There was a mod that changed this. Otherwise you can open the CC and edit the dog's entry.
I have that one thanks. It helps but there are still time when he plays his old trick of oh your in a narrow space let me just turn my body parallel to you. I did combine it with one that allows me to pet him and feed him treats, it at least straightens him out so he isn't blocking the way.
Here is another one I have seen recommended for this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20353
It doesn't stop the dog from getting in your way but it allows you to push NPCs away from you, including companions, when they are in your way. Never used it but check it out - might help.
I will thanks.
