i hate dogs

I don't want a dog as a companion! I want to explore places on my own or maybe with a hot girl (hopefully they will have a female companion in game). The point is I can't even kill that dog if I hate it! Plz give us the choice to choose if we want the dog as our companion if you really "value player freedom" Bethesda.

Yeah, pretty sure you can leave it at home if you do not want him.

I'm a cat lover, but I wouldn't take one as a companion in a Bethesta open world rpg. He/she would purposely get me kill because, well, you know...he/she is a cat.

By the way we know the dog is a boy. I remember in the gameplay they showed the character said "come on boy"

Well the OP said he'd rather have a girl with him (which by the way is true: girls only exist so guys can have something to look at while not talking to guys #youneedhelp), so the AI would still be an issue if it was a human companion.

Relax dude - just like all companions, they are totally optional - you dont have to take the dog...I prob will though, it will help at the start, but after a while and when i find another cool human companion (and if that happens to be a hot female i wont complain :) i might go with them..Hopefully in that case the dog will return to 'home base' so every time i go there i have a dog running around - i like dogs :)

I hate pet animals in real life. I have no idea why really. When I see people petting their cat/puppy/rabit/"cute" animals I would be disgusted by their behaviour somehow!

Anyway,a human companion would be far better than a dog. Humans can use different weapons so I can give he/she (hopefully she) a sniper rifle if they turn out to suck in melee.

A lot of it is cultural, you might be brought up in a country were animals are seen as dirty, farm beasts, usually non-EU or non-USA countries.

But the dog can hold an enemy down while you shoot it in the face, a human cannot do that, there are advantages/disadvantages to all situations if the game design is properly done. AI wise, they will most likely both get on your nerves. The fact that you specified it had to be a "Hot" girl, kinda defeats the point of why you would like a companion at all in the first place (companion =/= sextoy).
