You can also manufacture it if you have the DLC. But it's usually more efficient to trade components for ammo than to use them to manufacture ammo.

i was trying start low level with the weapon i guess you have dig for ammo in random ammo containers until you level up ? odd bethesdas survival mode

Yeah, thats not really gonna happen well. You likely won't even see any ammo for it at all until mid 20's, and the Scrounger perk (which causes additional ammo to appear in the world) doesn't work with 2mm rounds until level 30, so its no help either. Gauss weapons aren't early game weapons.

You might be able to find a few rounds for sale before that, but its going to be rare and expensive. You can try the guns dealer and the general store vendors (the woman during the day, and the robot at night) in Diamond City, or the 2 merchants at the entrance of Goodneighbor. Cricket (the wandering weapons dealer) might have some as well.

Yo can make it with the Amunition Contraption Workshop, but it rquire Gun Nut 4. So for higher level play.

How did you even get a gauss rifle at low level? Did you rush Old Guns to unlock Ronnie Shaw and buy the Last Minute?

He said Creation Club, so the Prototype Gauss Rifle. It can be bought from vendors according to the wiki, but doesn't mention a level requirement to appear.

Lol. Good point. Like the Zetan Alien weapons in CC, You can not buy the ABR for them, so you are going to have to get the level 4 perk in Science to use Fusion cells.

The ammunition plant from the Contraptions Workshop DLC won't help in this case. It has perk requirements to make the ammo, and 2mm requires Gun Nut 4 (level 39).

From the CK looks like it's found at vendors at level 28, 30, 35. Maybe found in rare loot from level 22. There is a 'vendor rare ammo' list where it starts at level 22 but I don't see anything using that list.

It's also found with (randomly spawned) Gauss rifles, and in one location, somewhere on the Prydwen.

You shall of course take Scrounger 2. Then 2mmCC Gauss ammo will start to show up but in small batches. I have that perk on all my characters and my low lvl's have a few Gauss rounds. Scrounger 2 is lvl 5 ish (or 6 or 7) so at about lvl 8 and beyond you might find some.
