Pristine Egg Disappeared (Spoiler Warning)

Working the Quest 'The Devil's Due' I picked up the Pristine Egg (Note: the Quest even Checked Off "Take the Egg"), but it has disappeared from my inventory. I'm wondering if this is a common occurrence, as well as if it is safe to use the Command Console to get the Egg back in order to complete the second part of the quest (Egg Delivery).

Note: I did not sell the egg, as it would have been in the Aid Category... and I never sell anything from there. As well... I'm assuming since it's a Quest Item the game would not have allowed me to sell it... store it... drop it... etc.

But mostly I'm just hoping to find out if I can used the Command Console to get another egg without breaking the Quest...or the Game.

I think the issue with that particular egg if I recall we can accidently dump it into a workshop as part of the bulk junk storage command possibly even cook it as an omelet if we are not careful.

I definitely didn't cook it... I don't cook.. anything. It falls under the Aid Tab, so it shouldn't drop into Workshop Inventory with the bulk Junk Storage command... but I don't use that command either, because I save certain Junk Items separately, such as Money, Gold, Silver, etc..

And oddly enough, searching for solutions; I can't seem to find any other individual who has had the same issue. Makes me second guess myself - LOL :).

Strange I must have been thinking of some other egg then. though if it is under aid it might unless protected from it get consumed I have had my game accidently consume the item below the one I thought I was on when I clicked the button.

I just used console command to get the Pristine Egg, so I could test a couple of things.

1) The Pristine DeathClaw Egg does not register for the DeathClaw Omelette... it needs a Regular DeathClaw Egg... not Pristine.

2) I was able to eat the Pristine Egg (Raw)... so I suppose I may have accidentally eaten it.

However... one thing caught my attention; the fact that I have the Recipe for a DeathClaw Omlette. Shouldn't I only have that When/if I give the egg to ??? Some guy in Diamond City?

So now I'm just confused!!! :(

True we get that recipe only after we complete the quest as a reward or if we use the console command to acquire it.

No, the regular Deathclaw egg omelette is available for the start, the recipe you get after handing the quest in DC is the Deathclaw Wellingham

Ahhh... Well that makes me feel a little bit better. I'm still missing the Pristine Egg, but at least I don't think everything is broken. Thanx Mate... great to know.

It's surprising that the game would let you eat a quest item like that, better hope that you can complete the quest with the replacement one :p

Yes it is to me at least especially when I can not even put other quest items in storage much less sell/use them.

Frankly I always get the impression they had at least thought about this being another radiant quest where we could occasionally get eggs for that robot then changed their minds about it.

I'm not 100% sure it did let me eat a quest item. Number one... I'm not positive I ate the original one I got from the quest; I just can't explain where it went. Number two... it let me eat the one that I got via the Console Command, but with backside coding and such... who knows how it actually registered. I reloaded my game after using the CC for the Egg... because I'm concerned with breaking my game if I used a CC egg. But I may give it a test run, and see what happens; I just need to ensure I've got a solid back-up save to which I can revert.

Always a good idea to make a backup save before trying any console commands.

Had the egg, got attacked anyways by the Matriarch Deathclaw, good pristine omelette, or whatever the name they gave it.

Were you wearing Power Armour? Per Wiki...if you are wearing PA Helmet with Targeting HUD Mama will attack.
