DLC: Automatron hates Stealth
I'm serious.

I'm maybe not always the best stealth player, but I've practiced in Fallout games enough to know when stealth should work and when it's been compromised. This DLC actively makes it feel like you CAN'T sneak around.

Doing melee stealth by the way. Been mostly very successful. Gotten through the game just fine until this DLC. But there are moments where the Mechanist will ACTIVELY force an NPC to meet and converse with your character, and it's impossible to sneak once the ambush is triggered.

Really sucks to deal with. Anyone else have this problem?

Never noticed any difference in how stealth works with the Automatron DLC. You using any outside source mods?

Nope.

I am playing on a slightly higher difficulty but not so high that it would make me extremely easy to detect. Yet, even when I can sneak around most enemies with almost no problems the Automatron enemies can pick up on me extremely easily.

It could be they are just that fundamentally better at detecting me than humans, ghouls, etc. but I have no idea.

Never noticed that. I noticed that you have to do at least the grand battle with Ada, and Ada is like "oh, look! Super Mutants! Let's pick a fight" right after you sneak past the lot of them.
Every single time, she finds enemies and picks a fight. I had a girlfriend like that IRL, it's so annoying.
No wonder all of Ada's company got slaughtered.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I think that's usually just a companion problem in general though.

They always seem to be looking for fights even as you're assessing the situation or looking for a better angle. They get shot at and immediately jump into action, which can be detrimental to sneaking.

Well, companions are not good for stealth play. Tho some are better than others. Cait I felt was pretty good. And doing the Mechanist fight, you have to have Ada with you or another robot with the radar device you need to access the doors.. No choice there.

The only reason to fix Ada is to give the Mechanist robots someone else to shoot at.

I taught in Taiwan and had a student fail an exam because she forgot to go back and finish the two pages that were the easiest for her. When I asked what happened, she said, "It is because I am so Ada." (Pronounced Ah dah. It means loopy.)
I once had Ada as a companion beside me while working at an armor bench in a Red Rocket gas station and she wandered far into a walled junkyard and back, bringing with her an army of super mutants.
Ever since then, I have called her Ah dah. In a later playthrough, I turned Codsworth into a juggernaut of destruction and gave him the special mod to open the Mechanist's lair.

Well when it comes to stealth robots and ghouls are extremely hard to hide from.

If you want a bit more realistic stealth then you need to use a mod that takes weather and night into account when doing calculations.
Darker Nights

One of my most favorite mods because night means night.
