Looks cartoonish like Borderlands not Fallout
I loved Fallout games but so far the graphics of this game looks like a cartoon rather than a war torn morbid existence like the others. Bethesda has been getting pretty lazy over the years in terms of gameplay but now graphics too? That's all there was in skyrim. In terms of gameplay, information, plot and complexity morrowind and oblivion were much better. They just started to try applying their new games to the widest varity of players a.k.a kids. Just like Call of Duty and games like that.

I think the art style is an improvement.

I'm happy you can enjoy it. It's just an opinion.

Everything just looks way to clean for my taste.

To expand on my last post. I think that's a vast improvement over the washed out greys and browns of Fallout 3. Even New Vegas has huge issues in that regard, although I cut it some slack because it's set in a desert after all. Lighting overhaul mods has been a requirement for me in both games. If I don't need one for Fallout 4 I'll take that as a plus.

Yeah I can understand that, the washed out greys and browns everywhere.

Heh, Borderlands grafics were actually made to reseamble a cartoon. Fallout 3, New Vegas and now 4 do not look anything like that at all.

Not sure if troll or just two marbles short.

I like that style. The style of graphics has nothing todo with lazieness or so. Next to the fact that this isnt cartoonish you should keep in mind that Borderlands' textures are hand-drawn which is a giant load of work. If you keep your eyes open you will see that the meshes has a load of details. They doesn't appear so detailed because the textures and lighting are make it look like that but just look how well formed the meshes are (you need to know the difference between bad graphics and intended design).
Also keep in mind that realistic textures on a high resolution like in Crysis 3 cannot be used on a open world game due to the lack of technology.
Also for all graphic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out there: modding will arrive 2016 so you can add your boobs and ENB stuff again.

I know borderlands was made to look like a cartoon, stronke look at the UI in the game it's nothing like the other fallouts and looks bland to me. Like I said Widest Varity.

I just hope the gameplay is good, and we haven't played the game yet so im not so closed minded about it I just have hopes in my heart for it.

Irrelevent to this game; Comparative to Diablo 3 I didn't like the changes they made from No. 2 They made it look completely different and again made it cheesy for little kids and overall much more simple so they can attract the most players. I just don't like it when entertainment companies do these things.

i actually liked the wasted monochromatic look to Fallout 3, until i modded it to be more colorful. As for the graphics, i think they look better than Fallout 3, and not really cartoonish. When you talk cartoonish, i think of 'WOW or Borderland. And it doesn't look Borderland to me. The color is a bit odd in a Fallout game. It might take a while for the OP to get use to.

as for your Morrowwind comment: man, i have lamented this too. Morrowwind truly seemed to be open. It was difficult. Etc. But Bethesda now caters to a huge gamer base that want an adventure, not a death march. And Bethesda could please both sets of fans by adding a true hardcore mode. It would be nice if Bethesda would take a cue from some of these strategy games that let you really tweak the difficulty levels in every area. Thinking Distant Worlds, Sins of the Father, etc.

I think you're wrong

i think it neither looks green nor cartoonish, its just what happens if you use natural lightning. the colours are unaccustomed but we will get used to it. apart from that, most things look definitely more realistic and dirty, just look at the faces or enemies. no more cartoon-orcish super mutants!
