Crashing on main menu seconds in

I was literally playing the game just fine earlier today without issue, then I close the game and it never wants to boot up again. No settings were changed (though they have been tremendously by now through troubleshooting, always set to default however)


I've done everything I can find online. I cannot afford to reinstall the game.

• Verifying integirty (13 times so far, no dice)
• adjusting Firewall and Defender,
• clearing the registry
• unloading my 3 mods
• clearing the files in MyGames\Fallout4 --- I notice Fallout4.ini keeps reappearing despite being deleted 40 times, datestamped to 2021 instead of a fresh file generation, whats that about
• Clearing the files in appdata
• Running the game and steam as administrator
• restarting computer
• Updating graphics drivers

I can't get it to run past the intro screens. Sometimes I can get as far as the Main Menu which makes me feel like I fixed it but then it crashes as soon as I click anything or after about 15 seconds regardless.

Found out what it freakin was.

I deleted all the local stored data from the CREATION CLUB and it booted right up...

So the Creation Club can corrupt your game

Na. Was you also using some outside source mods?

Tunnel Snakes CC can cause some issues with some quests if you start it too early. I do not have that one. But several others and never had any issues with any of them.

Tunnel Snakes CC can cause some issues with some quests if you start it too early. I do not have that one. But several others and never had any issues with any of them.

I did notice that it was refusing to download the Reilly's Rangers paint "The operation could not be completed", and true enough when I put back all the files BUT the reilly ranger faction armor it boots up without a hitch even with my mods.

Reilly's Rangers paint? I do not remember ever seeing that one on the CC.

But some mods can conflict with some of the CC items.

Tunnel snakes is notorious for breaking games. However so is the HD pack so if you had that installed and removed it, congratulations you just freed up half your hard drive space in addition to performance being better...

in the Fallout4\Data folder, along with the game's main files and DLC.

You can usually tell the creation club content from the main important files because the CC content has a hash garbled prefix like "ccawnfo4_"

What I did was chuck the files labelled "Reily" or similar, and reacquired from the ingame menu.

Well...crap. I already did that and it didn't help. I dont understand. I deactivated all my mods, and delted all CC content, and it still crashes.

Are you attempting to load a specific save file, or does the game simply not START at all?

What specific point does it fail now?

Not trying to load any save. The game starts, goes the the start screen (with the red rocket garage and power armor), then just closes after about 10 seconds. Trying to load a save or go to CC doesn't help.

Hey dude if your still not able to play and you use vortex, have you tried purging your mods? it disable all links to mods upon do that action to an unmodded stated, but that wasn't the case for me. I purged my modes and it was known as unmodded on my game but i still had my existing mods and was able to load into my game. Just try purging your mods your could link them back just by redeploying your mods.
