And there are plenty of YouTube videos available to watch for what you want.
But to avoid boredom, one of the easiest ways is to just take companions with you while doing regular missions. As long as you avoid their specific dislikes, they'll build up their affinity just from hanging around with you, and you won't waste separate time trying to grind it.
The only thing to really watch out for is wasting time when they're waiting for their personal stuff to advance, since a few of them (Cait, Curie, Danse, Maccready, Nick), won't advance past a particular affinity level until you complete an associated quest.
Is there a console command setaffinity X for an even faster way?
Yes, it goes up every 10 minutes you're hanging out together, so long as you earn some kind of experience during that time (so you can't AFK). It goes up faster at lower affinity, so early on, it will soar. It is sort of boring to farm for affinity, I agree, but you're not really supposed to; if you just travel with them as you play, it goes fairly fast. Some of them are really easy; Cait, Nick, and especially Deacon, since you'll get boosts from picking locks and/or hacking computers. Cait and Hancock can be abused by being in your skivvies. Danse, Preston, and Codsworth can be raised by modifying weapons and armor (well, only weapons for Preston, I believe). Preston will go up very fast if you just do some of his stupid quests. MacCready is one of the harder ones too, because outside of the limited times you can pass charisma checks for pay, he mostly just likes stealing, which isn't very convenient. The true, royal PITA is Strong; he hates everything except murder and cannibalism.
There is. Look up the console commands. I recommend, to avoid possible problems, setting it only to like 249, and then organically earning another point, so you can unlock the next conversation, then set it to 499, earn a point, have the convo, etc. I've done this without an issue. Oh, but don't try to bypass the quest-gated limits, that might cause issues.
Awesome, thanks! Because I am NOT doing everyone's affinity twice.
It's just that there are a lot of unowned locks floating about to annoy him.
