I am aware that the 2 Shot Legendary effect is the strongest. Ive gotten it on 3 weapons so far. A 2 shot sniper rifle, a 2 shot 10mm pistol, and I use overseer's guardian as a run and gun 2 shot rifle.

So far I haven't found a combat shotgun with that effect. Barring 50% dmg vs specific enemy types, which of these legendary effect is typically stronger damage wise or game mechanics wise? or is there one im missing?

Plasma Infused, which adds 10 points of energy damage. It shows as 15 on the weapon though.

+10% damage while aiming.

Ignores 30% of the targets damage and energy resistance.

20% chance to cripple the targets leg.

Time slows down for a moment while aiming.

I've noticed 2-shot can be very annoying. I'm often head-shotting and non-vats so the second shot will miss quite a bit more than I like. I didn't notice this until I used vats for a fight, which slows it down so you can see what's happening.

Still my strongest weapon outside of explosive which needs to be used with care.

EDIT: it does indeed count as a ballistic weapon and has the keyword, so I updated the list.

Great news, thanks!

This is a hallucination. There is no second projectile. It’s just a DMG buff on the first (only) projectile. It works like a receiver mod. It basically IS a receiver mod.

What’s the effect on the laser he gives you?

it's lucky, double critical dmg and critical bar fills up faster.
Probably worse than Instigating then. Unless for a very VATS Critical focused play style.

Lasers suck anyway apart from sometimes having plentiful looted ammo.
Would you not say Two Shot is superior to Instigating for heavy weapons like the fat man, rocket launcher etc?

As we are already including non-rollable unique weapons in the mix?

With two shot on such weapons you get pretty much the same DMG bonus as with Instigating but you get it every shot.
The problem with coming up with replacement sci-fi technobabble for these spells and enchantments is, it’s easy enough to do it for weapons but it’s really hard to come up with an explanation of why a piece of armour is more effective eg against humans or when you’re high or injured.
I would really like to have a play through using a Furious melee weapon, but I don’t think I’ve ever got one apart from the Furious Power Fist, and it just annoys me too much that you can’t use it in Power Armour when that’s the obvious purpose of it.

I might have once found a Furious Rolling Pin?
Generally I think the unique items spoil the legendary system because 8/10 uniques are better than 95/100 random spawns.

how that ? there are 2 projectiles shot at the same time, for exemple the 2shot fatman is shoting 2 mininukes, there are 2 bullets shots by ballistic weapons. there are 2 laser beam shots by laser weapons etc ....

still i don't know if the dmg buff is applied if only 1 projectile is hitting the target and the other one no. i think no, only one projectile hitting the target will be considered just as a normal hit without dmg buff.

IMHO what makes uniques better is the legendary effects on them are set intentionally (and therefore overall useful) instead of the RNG nature of legendaries which without mods can't be broken down and made into useful legendary weapons.

after all it's annoying when you have a certain playstyle and almost all legendary weapons/armor you find have effects you don't want and don't need.

yes the furious is very rare on non-melee weapons, i never found any.
berseker is very hard to find too.

i don't know if it's true but from my experience, the more often you use a legendary weapon, the more chance you have to drop the same legendary effect on another weapon.

this include the companion, if you give him your furious rolling pin and force him to use it often or constantly, your chance of dropping a furious weapon will increase.

this is just my theory and experience , there's no proof it's true .

2shot fatman is the same as instigating fatman more or less when the 2 nukes are close to each other. same dmg.
unless the second nuke lands far away, this happens, then it just deal normal 1 nuke dmg and then instigating is better.

nevertheless with 2 nukes you cover more space when the 2 nukes are not close one from each other which can be efficient in certain situations.

My last but one play through I used a “no legendary items” mod because the whole course of the game ends up being determined by the legendary item RNG and/or beelining (and metagaming) the unique legendaries.
Wiki says I’m wrong about Two Shot, it actually is two projectiles. But (like shotguns) the armour penetration is calculated as if it was just one projectile. And accuracy is terrible so quite likely one projectile would miss.

(That’s actually a dumb way for shotguns to behave. Penetration should be at the level of just one projectile. But shotguns are nerfed enough that they probably need this advantage even though it’s unrealistic that shotguns would penetrate far better than high powered rifles.)

It isn't just rare, but outright impossible to find a random legendary ranged weapon with Furious or Berserkers. Those legendary effects only randomly spawn on melee and unarmed weapons. If you find a ranged weapon with either one, it is something that was deliberately placed there. Like the two Furious handmade rifles in Nuka World.

Not true at all. Nothing influences what legendary effects drop. What you use doesn't matter, nor does your Luck attribute (as some people claim).
