Not Enough Resources
Anyone else having trouble finding enough resources for settlement building and modding weapons and armor. I'm doing all three and right now I can't find enough resources. I usually take care of a my weapons and armor mods first and if I have anything left over (which most of the time I don't) I'll use on my settlements.

No problems so far. I pick up everything i find and stash it for later.
I keep running out of adhesive. But, im going to solve that with that cooking recipe. ( growing crops first )
How far are you into the game? Did you build lots of settlements?

Under intelligence you can pick up the level 5 perk to take a part weapons/armor for more stuff.

I haven't had any problems with finding enough materials. Modding doesn't take too many and you only need to do it once. Just by going around sanctuary and getting rid of all the trash you should have a decent amount of materials. For rare stuff you can buy it from traders or raid high quality targets. Places do respawn so you can go back and get the good stuff again as time goes on.

I would too but what about weight limits, are you constantly running back to your settlements?

Tin cans = lightweight steel, Aluminum cans = lightweight aluminum, Pencils & clipboards = wood, duct tape = adhesive. Picking up all of those keeps common resources trickling in. For anything else, mark missing resources for tracking in building mode and you'll soon learn what to pick up, from the hourglass markers.

Don't forget that you can mark certain materials as tracked, so while looting it will let you know that it has something you need.
After a while you get used to which junk items are in high demand, desk fans for example are great for gears.
Its more about choosing which junk to keep than just grabbing everything you see.

I have never had a problem finding adhesive tbh, all about the wonderglue and duct tape :steamhappy:

I grab everything I can in every area I visit during quests and after every stage of a quest, I go back and store it all at whatever settlement I'm working on. Haven't had much trouble keeping resources nice and full.

(if no one mentioned already) You can also setup salvage stations in your settlements and assign people to generate junk.

Oops, its a scavenging station. According to the survival guide, it's built with 5 wood, 3 steel. The notes say:

Extra scavenging production. Requires an assigned worker.

No mention of recurring costs in the notes. I have 4 in Sanctuary and they seem to work well.

no issues I just make sure I scrap al lthe weapons and armor I dont want for parts and that way I always have what I need for modding.

As for city building... I usually find enough resources in the build area to be able to build up a decent town. But I only do the basics dont go wild building big forts or anything like that.
