Am I going insane? (Perk magazines and RNG)

I just gotta ask other people just to be sure my game didn't bug or I am not going crazy. This is roughly what happened:


I entered the Concord Civic Access and it was all fine. Radnomly stumbled upon a magazine called "Life and Love: Beware of the Man-Handler" down there, I'm sure I didn't press 'E' or 'Enter' to take it since later on I didn't find the perk or the magazine in my INV > Misc tab of the pipboy. Later on I found a magazine called "Taboo Tattoos: Eagle's Nest" in the room with a broken terminal, a mattress and a steamer trunk. Kept getting the same Eagle's Nest perk magazine ever since with attempted save game reloads. Nukapedia says that the Eagle's Nest magazine should be located somewhere completely different.

Are magazine spawn locations completely random or am I just going ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nuts and my game is spazzing out? Any answer/insight into this at all would be real handy and set my mind at ease.

Just to clarify, you keep getting the same magazine (same issue and everything)no matter where you are?

I think I might have garbled my post there. No. Basically, what happened was that when I entered the Concord Civic Access, I thought I found a copy of "Life and Love" and then "Taboo Tattoos: Eagle's Nest". I couldn't find Life and Love in my perks or inventory so I restarted my save. From that point on I could only find "Taboo Tattoos: Eagle's Nest" in the Concord Civic Access no matter how many times I reload the save.

Hence why I am asking if what magazines spawn in a location are affected by RNG.

Oh, no they have set places, so it probably is in your inventory just sometimes they are hard to spot. They are in the misc section where the bobbleheads and holotapes go. Check thoroughly and if it still isn't there I guess it is a bug so you should report it.


Also if it is a bug and you still want it you can use console commands to get it. IF you want to do that I can post the command.

I'd gladly report the bug if I knew exactlky how it happened. Sadly, I can't reproduce it. That's that. Anyway, thanks for your help and info.
