Of course, this doesn't help when the resource is behind a wall somewhere since you won't be able to see it.
Beyond that, I know of no way to keep track of certain settler's occupations. Wish you could rename them, so I'd be able to just say "alright, Bob is assigned here, and Jill is there"

Inb4 THE DEVS ARE SO LAZY WHY DIDN'T THEY THINK OF EVERY POSSIBLE THING EVER THAT ANYONE COULD WANT!? #boycottbethesda #FO4sucks
Oh wait, I'm too late, the fool before me already did it.
As others have mentioned, it's more than possible to institute your own organizational systems in your settlements.
1) Assign certain occupations to certain beds/houses only.
2) Assign certain occupations specific uniforms like FARMHAND CLOTHES or military fatigues/combat armor.
2a) Assign scavengers something like a SCAVENGER OUTFIT.
2b) Assign merchants a specific uniform.
3) Download mods which have ALREADY addressed this issue, like anyone who has ever played a game on PC before
4) Come up with your own solutions, if you're capable of that. You don't appear to be.
I don't mean to be an unnecessary degree of ♥♥♥♥, but seriously? Seriously. Use your brain.
what! I didn't know you could change the clothing and gear of settlers all this time, that will definately make it easier to keep track of them
Sigh.
And yes, when you pay for a AAA game you expect the devs to have thought of simple things for their fallout-minecraft collaboration.
Yes, yes you do(mean to be a ♥♥♥♥) or you would not have said it. Passive aggressive comments like these are almost as unecessary as trolls.
The game is terribly broken in regards to settlements and controlling the settlers.
not gonna spend an hour(s) on something even more worthless then sitting on my arse playing a videogame...playing dress up with ken and barbie is not my style. Mods are nice, an additional tool to tell a story by fans of the game.....not a means to fix dev incompetance or lack of TLC in certain aspects of video games.....even though that is what we are forced to accept from some game devs.
As another person said....it is a workaround......a workaround that should not have to be mandatory to have a postive settlement experience....especially from AAA content.
