Question about settlement shops.

Is there a good tutorial on how all the shops work and what to get them running? I have a basic idea but would like a more indepth description. Thanks in advance!

Basically create the shop.
Assign a NPC to it.
Buy and sell like always.
On occassion go to your work shop (misc tab I believe) and pick up your share.

Do i have to put weapons in my weapons shop to sell them? Do i just put them in the settlers inventory?

They come with a stock and will refill pretty much daily. Think of your cash investment when you build it is for opening inventory

I must be bugged then because i can't access the store inventory...I knew something was screwy..

this is the only way you can establish trade routs also. both settlements need stuff to trade.

Also you can only ''buy'' during business hours, some settlers will stay behind the shop but they're not selling.

I tried it during the day. No option to see their wares. I go under trade and it jjust shows what inventory they have. No store inventory..

if they are a store owner it should have the option to trade, and the option to barter. You want Barter if you want to see the store inventory

i've had it where settlers have been assigned to a shop during open hours and i could only access the settlers inventory and not the shops but after doing a few missions and coming back it started working properly so try giving it a little time?

If you assigned the npc to the store make a fast travel somewhere else and go back. Then wait until ~8-9 am and they start to move to the store and you can trade with them. But yeah sometimes these little @55holes won't show up. If that happens, assign another npc to the store and also make a travel around the worldmap and hope the new one will trade.

I've had them standing there forever lol. I did a bunch of missions and kept going back to them and nothing.

That is false. Shops and trade routes are not releated in anyway.

You can only use the shop during daytime hours btw, even if they're already standing there, so watch out for there. And barter, not trade.
