water purifier at red rocket?
i settled at the red rocket because it's really easy to secure, but it would be nice to have

a) enough water

and

b) pure water

is there any way i can get a water purifier running in that area?

I think that location is meant for small settlements or a personal home.
You could just put a bunch of wells out of sight(in a bush), all the benifits of water, no eyesore.

Nope - No running water, no water nottles. You'll only get a primitive pump.

And that is where the supply lines mechanic comes into its full rights - You'll need to set up a settlement somewhere with water (Sanctuary has a river within its borders), and then set up a caravan between the two. IF you want clean water bottles.

Primitive pumps satisfy settler needs, but don't produce any bottles.

I forgot about supply lines. Didn't know they moved water though.

They move resources - And more important give you access to other settlements workshop storage (like junk, and produced items)

not good news when i'm running an unarmed build. 1 charisma.

That's still 11 settlers per settlement.

Honestly your settlers would be few in numbers with that charisma level, so you can pretty much keep them hydrated with pumps.

I have 1 Charisma. If you want Water Purifiers, make them in a different settlement and fetch them every once in while. I preferred Sanctuary since it had Cooking / Armor / Weapon / Power Armor crafting as well as running water, but to each their own.

Those big water purifiers make tons of water and that means tons of money. Things are easier with trade routes but meh. Just need to fast travel to pick up some money once in a while.

More importantly clean water is used in the starch recipe, which functions as adhesive for your mods.

I'm running nothing but twelve pumps and I get oodles of purified water in my workshop.

Really? That's odd. It's purely manual and mechanical, unlike the purifiers.

I think as long as you have settlers in the camp and there's a water surplus they'll scavenge purified water for you from my experience.

Either that or I've just been very lucky.

Wear a Tuxedo (+2 cha) and Top Hat (+1 cha) and you can have 14.

Now go to an other settlement with a lot of unemployed people, drink a Beer (+1 cha), take Day Tripper (+3 cha) and take some grape mentats (+5 cha) and while you're on your drug and alcohol high, transfer 9 people to your target settlement so it'll have 23 people.

With 10 cha and enough nice clothes and powerful drugs, you can easily get 30+ people in one settlement.

you can buff your charisma and it raises your max settler limit temporarily. so, put on as much clothing you can that increases charisma, eat some day tripper, drink some alcohol, then go to whatever settlement has a bunch of people and manually send them to red rocket (or wherever) before the buffs wear off. i have a max of 16 settlers normally but my sanctuary has 20-21 people now because of this strat
